[done]Friends on same network can't join each other's games (high latency)

I'm helping some people with this problem, I anydesked to both their pcs and verified the port forwarding settings -- one is using 6112, one is using random port, both can host and I can join their games, but they can't join games hosted by each other. Any ideas?

Both comps have their own IPv4 address set to the respective forwarded ports? Had this problem on my network, resolved it that way.

Yes, one using 6112, one using random, both can host fine, but can't join each other's games and lag/drop when they both join a game hosted by someone else.

I found this guide for fixing the problem in SC, but idk about that custom firmware they say to install for the router... http://www.icyhell.net/starcraft-on-b-net-with-2-computers/

I assume both was on wifi? Try to get one of them to hardwire. I would not recommend anyone installing the firmware unless they have a device on the compatible list.

Wired or wireless really shouldn't be the root cause of the problem. Seems like the router isn't configured right.

I wouldn't recommend messing around with the router firmware unless they know what they are doing. I have installed custom firmware on routers before when bridging two of them and the process can become messy.

What is router make and model#?
Users server or forum names?

The guys are MickeyMentol & LittleCage. One was using wired, didn't notice the other. One Win10, one 7 if it matters. And yeah I'm not crazy about trying that custom firmware even if it's supported, something I have no experience with & can't even say for sure will work.

E.mikaelson suggested using a free vpn -- I tried out tunnelbear just now, it's super easy and it works fine. I was able to play a 3v3 game with no lag for anyone, idk if it'll help their problem but it's worth trying! So if you read this guys go here and download it: https://www.tunnelbear.com/download

Install & run, set up an account, then just pick the nearest location & click the switch to On and see if it works. You only need to use it on one PC and whoever is NOT using tunnelbear will need to host the game. Let us know if it works!

(that's totally the oatmeal bear isn't it...)

I am always a little wary of using unsecured VPNs but it will definitely be a temp fix to the problem. Would be better to figure out the problem. I know I spent a few days on this issue also when I was fumbling around with my network. Do you know their router make and model?
