Unwritten etiquette for noobs (now written)
« on: September 12, 2017, 07:35:05 AM »
How to watch on Garden Of War

If the game starts as Top vs Bottom but you must watch
The first thing you do is vision the other team then un-vision all, ally and allied victory, before moving.
Then move to the bottom left( Below 8 ) or top right part ( above 2 ) of the map

Just move your peasant there and do not build anything

Then select the allied chat box and select only players who are also watching.

Do not vision if the game is hosted on melee setting.

Ask "vision please" if players forget to vision you.

How not to get kicked/banned joining games.

If you are an unknown/new player to the host and players, When joining a game, select human straight away and ask "can i watch please" or "watch or play pls"

The reason why you select human straight away is it shows your status of intent, pro players may quickly ban a unknown or noob player
 because he assumes it will be to hard to assume u know how to watch or bother explaining it to you.
Unknown players are known to say they know how to watch but still build and ruin a 1v1 or equal teams game.
This game is old so everyone knows everyone, an unknown player ethier is a bad or a smurf (Hiding who they really are on a new name)
Players can be quick to ban without following this etiquette to become a known player.

Human = Indicates you are watching
Orc = Ready to play/Wanting to play
Random = Unready/brb

Garden of Wars starting positions are labeled with a clock time position on the map

s12 - 12 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - s5 - 6 - 8 - s9 - 9 - 11

If the host asks you a question such as "s9? or 11?" they want you to list the amount of gold in the mine of that position on the map garden of war to know you have an basic understanding of warcraft 2 etiquette.

s9 = 30k
11 = 65k

In game terms

Build strategy names

Power = 14-19 peons then upgrading hold rushing to ogremage/lust
Dual = 2 hall at 2 mines start of game
Rush = 2 barracks/raxs grunt rush
Gay = using towers offensively early in neighbor wars or at the start of a game

GG = Good game, equittie is the loser says it first. Saying GG first as the winner while the game is still going on is bad manners. The losing party generally calls when the game is up.
Once you say gg you are expected to leave immediately afterwards. Saying GG and continuing to play to try to buy you time to comeback on a lost game is bad manners

These rules is mostly how to watch good players play gow. There is so many other maps too... Most import rule newbs/noobs need to follow is: Answer when some one ask you a question... Most newbs don't answer or get upset because they have to answer stupid questions trying to play a game :p

Unwritten etiquette for "noobs"

If a player finds that a lobby is full, don't kick others to supplant his entry into that lobby

If a player wins a game, don't find it epitomized that you are the best player in the world

If you find that you are a good player, don't think that others, with their faith, can't do like things
