According to my memory and awareness, both a bit haphazardly spotty, I was in a predicament once in my life where I ended up wearing mismatched socks.
In spite of having survived the ordeal, I was never quite the same after that night.
It happened like this.
I was the only one awake in the house. I was playing W2 late at night in 2016. My bare feet were cold. This was intermittently causing my attention to move away from my screen (such a thing should never be done) and toward my feet.
Not wanting to rouse any other person(s)/creature(s) from restful slumber thereby creating a further disturbance/interruption to my W2 gaming experience, I resorted to the previously unthinkable.
I raided the dryer, which contained an assortment of socks, but not a pair to be found.
It was determined that the discomfort from perpetual lack of warmth to feet exceeded the discomfort of mismatched socks, and while this seemed valid enough an assessment at the time, time proved these choices to be cataclysmic.
It is quite possible that every ill in my life since that night can be traced back to that one fateful night.
I would urge you to exercise due caution with regards to laundering socks separately and causing various shading/discoloration patterns, making correcting these dangerous habits even more unachievable, as the existence of true, correct pairs will cease altogether, lending your future to nothing but misfortune and catastrophe.
