Ive done DEP for all executes and added War2Combat and BNE folders to my exceptions list on my anti virus, the weirdest thing is that it ran at first and then randomly stopped working.

Well who did beta testing the loader?? Maybe start doing that before release software!? I think this is just the beginning of errors from players.
I released it as a separate utility several weeks before new combat, so that was enough time for beta testing.
I also 99% sure this problem is not related to loader. It uses absolutely the same execution way as nocdloader which worked for years. Of course need to check as soon as the problem appeared and topic started didn't accept the problem in loader as you see...

And did you disable that hardware-based DEP for your computer?
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

If i were you, i'd disable all the new win8 security checks and features to try. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of some modern last fashion security mechanism implemented to win 8 that prevents to execute old applications.
Unfortunately i still didn't research win 8/10 behaviour yet. Plan to begin in several days...

Yeah it is a guess. I have no clue what the loader looks like. Hopefully I have time this week to try it out and see if I experienced issues or bugs

this is a workaround that works in most cases on windows 7 when encountering that error

but windows 8 is, well. lets just say its unpredictable and unstable as fuck lol

do this
Do this:

- Uninstall game

- Head to Control Panel, create a new user (w/ administrator rights)

- Log off the current user

- Log on newly created user

- Install game

- Play.

- Thank me later

blaze1237, can you post and application event for this error here?
Start - control panel, administrative - event viewer- application. And then find that war2 error and post it here.

Sounds like it may be a graphics card driver issue.  You may have recently received a driver update through Windows update that caused the problem.  From what I've researched so far, it looks like this problem occurs on AMD GPU's after a driver update.  I tested war2 on a Windows 8.1 64-bit computer with a Intel GPU and didn't have any problems.

Here are a few things you can try:

Try to rollback the graphics card driver.  Here's how: youtube.com/watch?v=Qb0fO6rAKAc

If that doesn't work...

Go to IObit.com and download Driver Booster (make sure you uncheck Insall Advanced SystemCare on the last screen of the setup).  Update drivers with Driver Booster and reboot your computer.  Then try to launch war2.  It's a long shot but it may fix the problem.

...and if that doesn't work... o_o

1. Download GPU Caps Viewer from geeks3d.com

2. Download FastStone Image Capture (a free 30 day trial) from faststone.org

3. Open GPU Caps Viewer and capture the active window with FastStone.  Save the file as a jpg and upload it here.  (The file size should be well under the 1280KB limit for attachments on the forum.)  This information will help me narrow down the cause of the problem (if it's what I suspect).

Hm, nothing useful, no memory address...
Exception code: 0xc0000005
0xc0000005 means memory access violation,,,

Sounds like it may be a graphics card driver issue.
Good idea, i think it's possible.
Would be great to try that and report the result.
At least i tried war2 on win 8.1, it worked fine with generic video driver and with default ati driver for very old card. Didn't test that on modern video cards with newest drivers...

Dont think he really had a choice since most new comps come with 8.1 and dont offer downgradable support. And i doubt anybody is going to go through the trouble of downgrading a computer just to play war2.
