I would like to find a few individuals who are left leaning and who are well thought out and produce a lot of video content. Who would you guys recommend? Would really appreciate it.

Isn't it funny how sometimes you can know absolutely nothing about someone, then take one look at their head and know everything you need to know.

Thanks Jon.

Gave it a go. A lot of those threads are talking about the actions of "Peterson Fans", or going after his religious infrastructure. The latter is interesting to some extent. There's also some threads taking a lot of what he says out of context, or finding things hes said that are stupid but fundamentally trivial. So far, aside from the arguments against his religious foundation, I haven't run into anything that had much sense to it. I'm sure there's stuff there, just seems to be taking a long time to sort through it all.

Who would you recommend on the other side of the aisle? thanks in advance!

this made me laugh tbh. always with the "taken out of context". basically sam harris and his ilk's moto at this point.

but realistically what other issue can you attribute it to other than the predominant socio-economic system of capitalism?

I provided you with two alternatives albeit deliberately unrealistic ones. The point being that without providing research based on the same data for a relevant and equivalent (which is difficult) non-capitalist control group, attributing it to capitalism is simply conjecture.

why would bourgeois sources attribute anything negative to capitalism? as far as western media goes nothing detrimental can be said about capitalism.

Possibly true, but I doubt very much if anyone in the western media is actually in posession of the aforementioned research and deliberately withholding it, therefore there is no reason for them to speculate.

I am aware that this does not stop many from speculating based on no evidence for things are on their agendas, but this doesn't automatically validate anything unsaid that isn't.

yea two dumb alternatives that make no sense and aren't backed up facts. as southeast asia and africa lead in highest suicide rates. places ruined most by capitalism.

Exatcly.

My 2 dumb alternatives have exactly the same amount of actual factual research to back them up as yours.

None at all.

This is the point ;)

when something is a worldwide epidemic like suicide, the only reasonable, culpable perpetrator is the dominant socio-economic system.

You seem to be confusing opinion with fact. You are supplying your opinion with no scientific data whatsoeverl to back it up.

America has been a capitalist society for hundreds of years. This rise in suicide rates was reported 4 days ago.

If it's the result of capitalism it seems to have taken an awefully long time to mainfest itself.

I think it's more likely that a heap of Trump voters have started realising what they did and are taking the only rational next step - but that's just my opinion ;)

Is this "dumb"? Quite possibly, but it actually fits the facts better that your opinion.

except my opinions actually make sense and you're just throwing out babbling nonsense as alternatives. i just told you southeast asia and africa, the poorest and most destitute continents ravaged by capitalism are leading the world in suicide rates yet you're talking about trump supporters.
there's not going to be any "scientific studies" on this, no one is going to fund a study on the detrimental effects of capitalism by the only people who can afford to , capitalists. you'll need critical thinking skills. if you disagree that capitalism is the cause (lol) come up with alternatives that actually make sense (you can't).

Hmm. Over-population. Stress, all that good stuff - but I have no facts to back such conjecture up.

Southeast Asia, and Africa are large regions that each cover many different countries with vastly different social, political and economic conditions.

To lump such a massive and diverse chunk of the entire world together and say, "it's because of capitalism" is absolutely absurd. There is no critical thinking there.

I'd say you were manipulating the facts to suit you agenda, but you aren't even doing that, your just wholesale making stuff up.

Then you actually go so far as to follow "critical thinking skills" with the original false dichotomy of argumentum ad ignorantiam..... just like Claw lol.

For anybody else who missed 8th grade:

A thing is not fact because is can't be disproven.
A thing is not fact until it is proven.

duh.

You are the one making the claim, either back it up with facts (not conjecture) or be proven an ignoramus.

"your just wholesale making stuff up." - this is literally what you're doing.

do you even have a point or do you enjoy looking like a retard trying to argue for arguments sake?

"Southeast Asia, and Africa are large regions that each cover many different countries with vastly different social, political and economic conditions."

all with one common theme, extreme poverty imposed by capitalist polices."

"Over-population. Stress"

those things are byproducts of capitalism. lol.

Ive never read or seen anything by peterson so i was never invested enough to read the following, but it's my understanding that this article exposes peterson for not understanding any of the philosophies he cites and being basically a charlatan
https://www.viewpointmag.com/2018/01/23/postmodernism-not-take-place-jordan-petersons-12-rules-life/

i saw someone succinctly describe peterson's appeal as follows:
Quote
I think my fav thing about Peterson is his belief that his interactions with men are informed by the implicit threat he'll fight them if they insult him--as if, as a middle-aged professor, male students are even subconsciously afraid that if they're rude to him he'll lunge over his desk at them, get knocked the fuck out in the ensuing brawl, and lose his job-for-life, all to avenge his precious honor.

It's easy to see why he's so popular with the alt-right guys: despite the huge gap between his class and lifestyle and that of most of his fans, he's fundamentally the same aspirational tough guy, constantly trying to process the contradiction between his passive modern existence and his personal fantasy of traditional masculinity.
