Title: September 26 Gow Tourney
Post by: ~ToRa~ on September 01, 2015, 12:29:57 PM
Hello everyone,

As I am sure you are all already aware I am now hosting Gow tournaments last Saturday of every month at 4pm eastern time for the rest of the year.
Last tournament was a great start but I am expecting for an even bigger turn out his month. Which is why based on turn out we may do things slightly differently this time around.

For instance in the event we only receive 12 players like last touney the finals will pay 15/35 like last time. With the winner receiving a master icon which they must defend next month.

However if we receive 16 players I believe it best to have the semi finalist play each other to determine who is 3rd and who is 4th
4th will receive 10 dollars
3rd will receive 20 dollars
2nd will receive 30 dollars
1st will receive 40 dollars and will receive a master icon which they must defend next month.

In the event we receive more than 16 players, for instance if we receive 24+. I believe it best to break up the tournament into to classes, class A and class B. Players would enter into their class based on their ladder ranking.
Class A payouts would be the above.
Class B finals would pay 10/25.
As a note all players must have paypal in order to receive their cash prizes

Remember the sole purpose of these tournaments is to get people interested in playing warcraft 2 again.
Which is why all suggestions are welcome.

If you want to keep people around, it should be like a tournament league like burnt had where there is a tournament each week and everyone gets points based on how they do each tournament and prizes are awarded at the end of the season.

Not really feasible right now. There aren't enough people involved on the server. Plus I would need more people willing to help out.
For now I do believe it's better to keep it monthly for the rest of the year. However maybe starting 2016 we can start doing something like this.

Correct, monthly is a good idea right now until more get interested in participating. Monthly tournaments give players ample time to practice and prep for it...

Is anti-hack obligation?

Is anti-hack obligation?
We could make it mandatory.

Why? Are you joining?

It shouldn't take more than 2 mins for players to download the anti hack feature.
So I suppose we could check before the start of the tourney to see who doesn't have it and then have them download it before playing.
