Title: new update version found
Post by: SmurfKinG on June 26, 2015, 01:19:12 AM
it showed that msg (today26June), i don't even know if it went thru or not. (as literally there was no delay, game was lanched almost immedtiately after clicking ok)

maybe add a confirmation dialog game was updated succesfully..

and even better add a dialog window showing what changed...

p.s. its the second update i see, the last one was about 10days ago or so

Well, i checked the collected info for last days, got some problems and decided to add some small fixes to that collecting mechanizm.

So i updated War2PLoader to the next version: 1.0.0.7.
Just confirm the update next time you start it.

I hope to release some working backend for antihack soon.

Yes, i updated it 2 days ago. And yes, it was the 2-nd time when i updated it since combat 4.01 release.

If something failed, you will get an update message next time you start it.
Immediately starting is how it should work normally.

maybe add a confirmation dialog game was updated succesfully..

More dialogs means more attention from user, not sure if we need that.

and even better add a dialog window showing what changed...

I have plans to add "what's new" text to update dialog for future versions (not a high priority task).

Yes, i have plans to add it as something like a tray icon.
To make options switchable as in war2ppatcher, to inform about new games created, window mode, etc.

Loader is young project now.

Hmm war2 tray sounds cool, might be useful between games but doesn't war2 eat a lot of system resources if let idle?

More dialogs means more attention from user, not sure if we need that.

a small popup window 'Update  Completed'  and a single OK button.

what if the internet went down in that time?
then the next time user runs war2 gets update needed again and he'll be guessing if its a new one or the last one didnt go thru....

actually make it.. Update 4.0.1.2.2.21.1 completed
include version in it.

its troubleshooting man
even for you, you are human, if for some reason theres something in the update you did that makes some users client to fail or another gamerelated issue is generated, how would you troubleshoot em. first think ud want to know is what update version they running...

help you. help us.

Maybe, not critical.

Yes, but as i remember it will inform you if update have been failed, let me look at that later...

include version in it.

its troubleshooting man
Right-click the exe - properties, and you will see a version there. Last is 1.0.0.7 now.

Of course i plan to update that to make it more user-friendly.

The 100% cpu usage has been around for a long time but I never had any problems with it since I have always used multi-core machines anyway.  I suppose it could be a real problem for single core boxes.  A dual core cpu should work just fine as it'll always have 1 free core.  Does anyone even have single core anymore?
