Title: A Dellam Story
Post by: Rit on March 09, 2016, 04:44:05 PM

So I hop on war2 the other night for some late night gaming and decide to join a Dellam game...

After getting into the game, we then move onto having a wonderful discussion about bananas...

Wait a minute... WTF... Can it really be that I, the strongest monkey in the world, am losing to Dellam? :O?

Oh wait... nevermind... I can't build more than 3 dragon roosts because I don't have enough oil.  I then realize that the map is fixed order (something I foolishly miss before the game even started). So let's take a look at some of the unit properties on this map...

I sure do miss the good old days when Dellam just used map and build hack...

Jamie, I'll tell you the password to the dellam account, but in return, you need to
a) never hack again
b) never host a rigged map again

and if you're caught doing either, we'll use the hardware ban on you to erase you from War2 forever.

Is it a deal?
Deal ,

Also do you think my name is Jamie? Haha

Hmm, is that hardware ban almost finished?

Ok, so like, why do the human units cost no gold?  Thats just stupid.  Dellam is such a loser.  At least the human Ballistas still cost a whole whopping 300 wood..... TOTAL.  lol.

I don't know, I don't think these ss's are definitive proof.  They could be old or a spoof (claw) framing him again.

Actually the game report files would confirm these allegations ;)  If the map name matches,  then they are 99% probably legit lol.  If not,  well then I still say burn dellam at the stake anyway just cuz lol.

It's really no big deal to me since I should have known better not to join a game hosted by Dellam.  I wasn't even going to bother reporting it.  This was originally going to be posted as a reply in Dellam's thread after Blid mentioned something about him rigging maps.  I just couldn't resist after that.  ;) That thread got closed when I got the urge to reply so I just posted it here.

Strange, this happened way back on 3/6. Dellam barely got his name back on 3/8.

No, Blid gave him the pw on Mar 2nd and others confirmed that it worked by logging into it when Dellam lied that he couldnt login with it.  He WAS logging in with it, and obviously he was still hosting rigged maps AFTER he'd said he wouldnt.

Well, looks like need to add a warning: be careful while playing unknown maps (being redownloaded when you join). Also be especially careful while playing unknown maps with fixed order and with different race.

For me that looks better than map hack because it have some signs to be detected.

Plan to my todo list for antihack: to get the checksum of maps played or downloaded and to warn players if the map is not known.

I don't think rigged maps are a very big deal.  It's just that dellam is known to host them and promised he wouldn't.

The fruit, of course.  Just to clarify though, I'm a fan of the ladies.  I've had my fair share of misunderstandings...
