Try http://en.war2.ru (http://en.war2.ru) downloads and d/ling and replacing your ddraw file ? What windows are you on

If you're a win8/win10 user there's a fix for most of the display issues. I sort of think it's bundled in the new downloads of the client, also a link here:

You want the ones by aqrit. There's a bunch of them for some reason... i think they all tend to affect the user slightly differently so maybe try one at a time and see what works.

win10 so it shouldn't use ddraw.dll from what I understand?

This all started when apparently I didn't have anti hack enabled...which I didn't even realize was a thing. So I uninstalled and downloaded the newest client and re-installed....and now I have no icons for people in chat, and if I open profiles or other pages they just overlay and get all fucked up / unreadable. I don't have ddraw enabled from the installer.

That was the trick...I dumped this file into my war2 directory.
