Autists just don't have the same empathy for fellow human beings, and that lack of empathy is what allows them to murder tons of people and take their points. To nitpick and be totally fair I don't buy the "guns won't help against an evil government because they have drones and bombs and tanks" argument though, people with shitty weapons in lots of countries fuck up US forces all the time. There's other reasons "I need guns to fight the government" is a dumb argument ("right to bear arms" in the US context represents no threat to the state whatsoever because gun culture is so reactionary, is a form of American capitalist influence via the arms industry, utility as social control) but that's not one of them.

ganz pretty much hit the nail on the head there.
there are a lot more good guys in this world than bad guys. allow any adult without a history in violence or mental illness to carry a firearm anywhere they want whenever they want and these nut jobs wouldnt get very far.
at first there would probably be a lot of accidents and even acts of violence .. but it wouldnt take long for the culture to evolve around guns and develop a sense of responsibility and accountability around them.

The chances of being murdered with a gun if you're not involved in a violent relationship or crime in general is less than 1 in 150,000 .. not only do the chances of them trying to kill me decline if they know i'm not a "sitting duck" and am armed as well, but the chances of them succeeding decrease if i am armed.

As soon as I heard the news I knew exactly what type of person did this. Their is an epidemic of lonely, socially awkward men who isolate themselves into psychosis, and things like this will continue to happen unless we address it. Mocking them and calling them nerds, m'lady, losers, virgins, or whatever other stupid insults you think up will only fuel their anger. This country needs a massive dialog about the sexual market place. It does exists and it is a real thing. These men are lashing out, because no one telling them what they need to hear. Stop telling these men that being nice, polite, and honorable is any way to get ahead in either professional, social, or romantic life. I could probably write you this guys life story right now, and I don't even know what he looks like. Social and romantic relationships are a need on the same level as food and water. Men who don't experience that get sick mentally and physically. I would bet my life on the fact that this guy has limited if any sexual history that was not paid for. Virtually every mass shooter in the past decade has the same MO. When are people going to wake up and admit that things like MRA/Red Pill/MGTOW can't be just be brushed aside and written off as a fringe group of "weirdos"? The sad thing is no one will talk about the real reason behind this and past shootings(low sexual market place value) and instead will focus on meaningless bullshit like left/right politics, and just write him off as a "crazy person". He and other shooters are sick, but they weren't born that way. If they had a social circle and romantic prospects this would not have happened. I defy anyone to find one mass shooter that had a large social circle, and steady girlfriends. Carry on calling him an "evil misogynist".

I remember one from like 5 years ago where a cop has some vet on the ground at the side of the street, and the cop is like put your hands behind your back and the guy does and then the cop shoots him and keeps screaming at him "put your hands behind your back" or something similar and the guy is like "I'm trying, stop shooting, I'm trying" and the cop shoots him like 5 more times and then the department engaged in a long-term harassment campaign of the guy who filmed it. Trying to google it now but I can't remember enough details to find it.

Meyer then reopened the door and, after "a brief exchange of words," leveled a rifle that had been concealed and aimed it at Steele.
"Constable Steele, who was in uniform, quickly removed his .40 caliber duty weapon from its holster and fired a single round," the police report said, noting that employees of the apartment complex witnessed the encounter.
That bullet "shattered the bone in (Meyer's) left arm," Hicks told CNN affiliate WHTM-TV, then went into the body of Ciara, his 12-year-old daughter, who had stayed home sick from school.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police report.
Meyer now faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report. He was flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment after Monday's shooting in Perry County.
