Server.War2.ru / "I don't lag"
« on: September 17, 2018, 12:59:17 PM »
FYI/PSA: If you are asked to leave, you leave--immediately. It doesn't matter if you have a $3000 computer with a fiber internet connection. Most lag these days is a conflict between two players, which is much more likely to be an issue between ISPs, or router configuration, and has nothing to do with your computer or connection speed. Usually people ask the newest player to join a group to leave, and it almost always works for this reason.

If you feel compelled to justify and tell other players that "you don't lag", you actually probably do much more often than you think, since you've been in the situation often enough to get defensive. If you're stubborn about it and other people leave first, it may very well appear, to you, that you were right when the person conflicting with you left, and that just further ingrains this stupid fiction in your own mind. This does not make you right; it makes you the asshole.

It is especially idiotic when you are the only watcher in a game. Who else is going to leave? The players?
Stop ruining games and just leave. Thank you.

Server.War2.ru / Tier Swift tournament announcement
« on: November 25, 2016, 10:23:18 PM »
Hey guys.  I have been in negotiations with Swift and he has agreed to come out retirement just one time for this special event.  The start time for the tournament is still to be determined.

The first round of the tournament will be a play-in mini-swift round.  Each player must get past the mini-swift to advance in the tournament.  The settings for the first round will be match independent, and will be selected by swift once all players are determined.

All remaining rounds, except the final stage, will be played Best of 5, on even faster, with the settings selected by swift.  He is considering his selection now and I will update this post once they are determined.

The winner from Group A will earn the privilege to play Swift in the final stage.  Swift will come out of retirement to play the winner in a Best of 7, king-of-the-hill style match-up.  Of course these games will be mere formality.

There is no set start time or time limit per round.  Given the historic nature of this event, I wouldn't want someone to not have their opportunity due to a technicality.  However, I would urge you to act "swiftly" to get your games completed; If at any point, swift becomes impatient, he will advance forward the round and declare the remaining winners.  Thus is the privilege of being a Legend.

Please let me know via PM or mail on bnet if you would like to participate.  Preference will go to the players listed in the sample bracket posted here:
