Hi guys,
I will be hosting the first tier 2 tournament Saturday, Sept 24th at 4:00pm Eastern time.
All players that wish to participate please report to the tournament channel no later than 4pm Eastern.
Maps that will be played are-
R1- Garden of War
R2- High Seas combat
R3-Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide
Finals- Garden of war
All games will be Classic and played on ever faster and high resources. Games will be Bo3 except for the finals which will be Bo5.
Prizes payouts will be
$40 for 1st and automatic entry into the tier 1 tournament
$20 for 2nd
Winners must warvid or stream their final matches and they must have paypal to collect.
Please be advised this is a tournament and cheating will not be tolerated.
The rules governing SS are such,

If you are requested to take an SS and you refuse during a tournament game, I will ban you from the server for 1 week. Furthermore you will be excluded from future tournaments for 3 months.
Lastly I would like to point out again that this is a tier 2 tournament and tier 1 players will not be able to participate.
Players that are excluded are the following,
00kyle, u8t3io3p, braviet, Shotgun, Startale, Alf-Attack, BHC-Jesk, Medivh, Viruz, 00Joe, 00Logan, Player and Knitterhemd.
(If your are reading this and you see your name on this list watch your pm inbox I will be sending out pm's to you a few days before I announce the next tier 1 tournament.)

I just looked threw your game reports going back a few years it doens't look like you have any games from anything other than gow.
In the future hopefully we can get AH mandatory to log onto the client.

Being good at only gow doesnt make you a tier 1 player. Tier 1 and and tier 2 players do need to show they are good at maps other than gow.

For now im only focusing on spliting the community into tiers. Hopefully in a couple months we can roll out tier 2 icons. Then we can start hosting tier 3 tournaments as well.( Tier 3 players will probably only compete on gow during their tournaments.)

NWTR is hosted mainly by unu you are correct. However it is still widely played. And it will help off set the time Ro2 may take.

For now though I think I will host 3 tier 2 tournaments before attempting to host a tier 3.
Its very difficult to decide who belongs where at the moment.

Nah, though I dont know who truth or nexus were. But yah Max was Joe. Witnessed a convo about it then even asked him, he said yeah, and he was mad at Swift for blowing it, and that he worked hard by not talking much to keep it a secret.

Smurf are fucking dumb and if i was leading this game i will ban block every smurf account and force peoples to use one.
First of all this game is like death, you cant let peoples smurf because it kill it more, you guys need to force people to reveal there true identity so peoples can see there alot of regular player online.
By allowing smurf your just letting this game die.
And there also the fact of peoples who smurf for braggin after wins.
Take by exemple swagier the coward, who abuse of the ladder with his european friend and braviet.
And when you call him out on the forum to force a 1v1 he smurf you like a little bitch because he cant just imagine and stand the fact of losing on his real account.
So people who smurfs you actually know who you are but also know your strategie and everything, while you dont fucking know nothing about the guy your facing.
Then if you beat him, hes gonna die like a piece of shit and nobody will never know you beat him.
But if he beat you he will be the first to brag about those smurf victory against you.
Peoples who smurf or just fucking cowards.
Especially in tournament, its even more worst.

You walked into a hornet's nest with this idea lol.. i've only read the first initial post so far and i know it's going to get ugly
the tier system is kinda silly imo. it's not a concrete science, just a way most of us tend to rank others, which none of us ever seem to agree on
i think the main reason for the arguments over the tier system is simply because of style of play.
Example:
Player A can rape player B 5-0
Player B can rape player C 5-0
... But player C can rape player A 5-0
Scenarios like this do happen (maybe this is a little exaggerated .. but you get the idea)
How do you put them into tiers? they just have different style of play. To say one is better than the other may not be even possible to determine.

I think this is a great idea what Tora has. Players should seriously consider this. Kudos to Tora for trying to make the game better instead of non stop flame posts.

I actually am being persuaded to make the tier 2 a GOW only tournament. So many people keep complaining.
Maybe it is better to leave map pool to tier 1 and leave GOW for the lower tiers.
Anyone wanna weigh in?

The probleme is the choice of your maps, nobody cares about water maps, mean nothing to add water map even in the tier 1 because 3 players like braviet, swagier and spb enjoy water map.
Otherwise Nobody in this communauty have use to play this kind of map seriously for the last 15 years, your actually finding tier 1, tier 2, and probably tier 3 on map nobody play..
Peoples want enjoyable map like Gow, pos, b2b, ntrh, forest trails, GSEW, friends.
Thats the kind of map peoples use to play for the 15 last years, not water map where 5 peoples cares.

Plenty of people play water maps. You're just upset that you have no idea how.
Tora I think you should keep maps other than GOW, but sub something else in for NWTR. That map is so unorthodox it might as well be a custom.

You could use a substitute of something like pos low to give a change of resources. Plus numerous people play it.

I'm not against NWTR at all, I just threw in a replacement of a map that would test resource skills other than high. NWTR used to be a really competitive and it was played by some of the greatest Gow players of all time, Yah'mon, khb, scrubbo, viruz, etc.

Due to enormous player feedback it has been decided that this Saturdays tournament will feature only Garden of war.
I believe the best way to host the Tier 2 tournaments is to feature 1 map. Whether it be Gow, Pos, Gsew, etc.

GoW EF High
PoS BNE EF Low
FoC EF (or even F) High
Don't take me wrong, I really like and play a lot HSC but FoC I think it is more suitable to test the skill on a water map as there is not an easy hop.
NWTR is a very cool map and I think it deserves a tournament by it self.
ps: I will most probably participate for the experience! As I said I haven't managed to work WarVideo but I doubt that I will reach the finals.

Alt-Tab out when your in a game lobby and open Warvideo and start recording, after the game tab out, stop it and make sure to save the file

Thanks for the advice Winchester, but the problem is I'm playing on Linux and not on windows. Alt-tab does not work with wine (well it works but it gets confused with the different resolution and I cant see the warvideo window).
I might be able to use hypercam but that I will have to try out first! (One of the many tasks I have pending).

It was fun :-)
I hope I'll be able to participate in more tournaments!
This was my first one and I have a few suggestions though.
First: Introduce a small final too! We want to know who is the 3rd ;-)
Second: First game losers (regardless the round) should have a Losers tournament set up!
Third: The winner of the losers can play challenge and play against the 3rd. This compensates in case a good player was randomly chosen to go against the 1st.
This changes give more games to the losers so they will enjoy the tourney more :-)
