I click the "Quote (selected)" button on a post and it quotes the whole post. Very nice.
I highlight a certain part of a post and hit that same button, and it
always quotes it wrong

Same here. Describe exactly what you're doing and what's going wrong.

Its hard to describe but I click the quote select and it has a random amount of what is supposed to be quoted, like it gets cut off from the beginning or end. Next time it happens I will ss it.

Happened to me last night when we were expriencing heavy lag. Not sure if its related to your problem but my quotes were replaced with a "." or blank space.

this has been happening since the forum was made

Only time I experienced this as during the extreme bout of lag that happened last night. Not sure if it was because I was sending multiple requests to the forum at once or the traffic that it was experiencing...there was a lot of people on last night.
