The Championship GoW 1vs1 tournament is just around the corner! Formally it would happen during the Warcraft 2 Festival on the last Sunday of July each year, but I have done my tournament plans a little different this time.

It will still be on the last Sunday but it will be a stand-alone tournament for the weekend. I have held this GoW 1vs1 Championship several times now and some of the very best players in Warcraft 2 History have been able to take it home:
Valkrie
Wargasm
Swift
Viruz (2x)
Its_Hot_In_Herr
So let us look forward to seeing another repeat champion or if somebody new can rise from within the ranks!
Lets take a look at some potential contenders:
u8t3io3p has a 4 tournament win streak now in my tours.
braviet was in the finals of the very first one, as well as semi-finals of others. Would be a nice tournament for his resume.
LoNe wants this one bad, and it is right up his alley. GoW 1vs1 is his preferred style.
Viruz the only player to win it twice, he logged back on for the last tournament and has been active in the weeks since, with enough practice I think he could be in shape to pull it for a third time!
Swift has come short in the finals losing to Viruz in his last two attempts. The debate of greatest player in .RU history has been between Swift/Viruz, time for redemption?
Shotgun,Jesk,LuX,Koorb,alf,Vizzer,Medivh,Fighter002,00Joe,StarTale,Poscow,Yamon,Mystical,Knitterhemd .. the list goes on and on there are so many good players who all know GoW so well and could pull this off.
This will be the first time the tournament prize will be spread between 8 players. (ty ~Tora~)
1st place - $200
2nd place - $100
3rd place - $50
4th place - $50
5th place - $25
6th place - $25
7th place - $25
8th place - $25
Plus newly added $50 drawing for all players who do not make it to a cash prize position. At the conclusion of the finals a name will be pulled live on the stream!
I ask once again for you to be able to collect the prize you have to provide WAR2INSIGHT replays of each game you play in the tournament. We want to make these games view-able to the public on the youtube channel and potentially attract more players.
So GL - HF and practice up for the most prestigious tournament of the year!

Idk what you are talking about the date never changed. This tournament is always the last Sunday of the month.

no guys Szwagier wants to play on the 23 so we should just change the date just for him, doesnt matter if others cant play on the 23 as long as Szwagier can play because its really important that the date is changed just to suit him guys thanks guys

In my work if i got free day cause doctor notes i am losing 600 pln, not worth
In poland sometimes u need wait month for doctor, if u ill u need go early morning and wait few hours and sometimes he will you to gohis office between two patients xd

Yes, my mom got few visit to next year to expert doctor,.ofc we can go in few days and pay it 100 maybe 200 but if u want for example tonsillectomy i went to private doctor and he said i should do it i still needed opinion from hospital doctor, so i waited half year to visit doctor, then next half for surgery

too bad if szwagier cant play, hes so good. and as far as swift/viruz being the two in contention for best .ru player all time, shotgun is and always has been overall better than viruz.

One of those two festival losses, I got 6 three out of four games. The other one he beat me straight up, and we can count that one.
However I beat him in the KOTH series BOTH of those same festivals? Why is that overlooked? Those wins are equally as valid as his one legit gow series win. We can call it 2-1 in my favor, since mass spot fuck series don't count. :P haha
Anyway, I haven't been able to get anywhere near my 2008 level. I have sucked for nearly a decade now, and I haven't had any aspirations to get back misplaced skill or prove anything for years. I most likely won't play in the tournament. I'll leave it to more ambitious players, like U8 and Lone - it's super exciting to finally see some new great players and not the same old same old.

Are you sure you beat him in the KOTH (map variety) both years? I think one that you are referring to was the low resource tournament, and it was Swift vs. Braviet the finals.
Braviet took Viruz out of that one but yes you beat him in the grand scheme of the tournament.
