Yes and No.

Referring to what Ed said above, I can somehow make a thing like this to work but not in the nearby future.

On current mods, I've around 25 differen tilesets. Including the ones from base game.

Some of them share the same color palettes for the whole tileset sheets. So then its possible to combine. But i dont have them planned to do for now.

Not sure if this was ever possible in Starcraft 1 though. Combining different tilesets like snow + wasteland + space. Maybe its possible but the game may have same issue about color palette files.

It's a good idea, though.

I planned to use this feature from multiple tilesets, thanks to Ed, to make Ramps for example in War2.

This could be possible but Ed said vision would still be an issue since it not works like Starcraft AND... there's no tech to make hits fail like in Starcraft where like 30-40% of shots miss on high ground

I'm in support, but I've noticed that most players are strongly attached to keeping things the same. A lot of it seems to come down to ego. They resist change and justify problems in the game as skill-related instead. I think it's more about not wanting to adapt.

a lot of conservative stubborn mindset. But it happens in every single game. Those people, unfortunately, are the most loud to talk and resist about game changes.

Not just referring to audio/visuals, but just even changing the game balance for the better.

This game has 16 spells. Every single game is just bloodlust or very little to see Death & decay/Blizzard, if humans ever played.


I think a very large amount of casual level people would like to play with everything the game has to offer, from spells to units but they simply dont speak good enough about wanting it.

Be that as it may, there're 2 "rebalanced modes" in Lobby, multiplayer games. For those who want something different, at least the alternatives already exist.

Will this tournament be played with the same War2 classic game balance as it has  been forever, or are you going to make it work with this small option in Lobby to allow Blizzard Remaster Rebalance ?

A week ago, we, the admins of the Russian-speaking part of the community, were approached by a YouTuber who wants to write a review of the multiplayer for Warcraft 2, with a request to give him several nicknames of legendary players. ya i feel like we shouldnt had made it a option .. just update the game with the new balance an if anything add the option below for "old blizzard" that they click to to be able to play the unbalance lust mode lol

It's glorious and wonderful you think this way, but specially to want improving the game instead of sticking with same stuff for another 30 years or forever.

Unfortunately as it is, many people disagree with you or me in these war2 communities and think war2 game balance is perfect and should never ever be addressed or fixed up.

Many dudes are stubborn. Straight up, even if you use 3/16 spells or less than half units the game has to offer. In pretty much every single multiplayer game.

If there was way more willpower, the game would of course be way more interesting and attract more people.

The closest you can get to "set Blizzard rebalance mode" as by default, is what I suggested to this guy called Dudakurten for his ladder system.

I suggested him that if ever wanted to make another "ladder season", then force to play all games in "Blizzard-rebalance mode". So you get a fair chance to play and WIN as humans race.

Its just a matter of willpower to get the game more interesting, instead of that stupid bloodlust spam every game.

The game used to be very limited to mod, just till 2020 but no more. The technology already exists to mod and fix the game in so many ways but its up to people and community to get better and way more variety.

blizzard mode means War2 remaster re-balance being released as a patch by Blizzard.

It means, people were forced to play the new game balance proposed by Blizzard on War2 Remaster, whether they wanted or not to stick with the non-sense bloodlust spam (game balance) since 30 years ago.

If people actually wanted your suggestion with a better game balance, just like the one proposed by Blizzard on Remaster, then this option would have been available since the release on Remaster, but on Combat Edition.

Apparently, people prefer the old 30 years old game balance with bloodlust spam every single game, so it has been kept the same as it is. But having Blizzard (rebalance) as option is still great, yet I have not seen a single game where people play this way. Not even in a tournament or showmatch.

There is no willpower to change it, besides its possible.

Still, many thanks to Ed-gorod to make it available on War2Combat and its very welcomed.

ok so i added the rally point plug in to my plug in folder but it doesnt work in game .... do i have to enable it? i just want to be able to use that with out having to use "rebalance" mode

The mod thread specifically states that *** Rally point *** feature is enabled for *** Single player *** games.

In multiplayer, you can enable Rally points, alongside many other features if you select in Lobby - game to "Rebalanced" or  "Triggers" modes. I dont remember which one of them.

The mod thread i did was most specially designed for Single player usage. Either base game or to make any more complex mods.
Single player = campaigns nor custom maps.

The plugins in that mod probably can work in multiplayer if all players share the same plugin in Plugin folder from War2Combat, but haven't checked it.

cause u know people like the game broken an complain about the rebalance i just wana be able to host a version where its only rally points an hp bars above unit heads

and i think several others

they're customizable and separate from each other to just add them as add-ons to your base War2Combat installation.

The only thing this mod don't have is actual health/mana bars. Ed gorod may be capable to include in future.

Rally points are already a reality since like 1-2 years ago already in other mods i did like Road of heroes or Trolls revolution. Re-balance from my terms was also included in these mods like:
healing is 4mana/1hp cost
archers/trolls slightly faster attack speed than base game
rangers/berserkers get attack speed boost by that upgrade as well.

gryphons/dragons faster attack speed
skeletons more HP, more armor, more attack speed

Didn't warcraft 2 remaster add the ability to select more? You could select up to 12 men in one go.

A side note you can select 18 men in the PS1 port if you wish get a ps1 emulator on pc like epsxe and play that one if you want more than 9 units but it got lots of faults like missing pissed off sounds , and death coil icon being swapped with death and decay icon LMAO and all units have 1 death sound which is the human one.



the only things that are better in my opinion in comparison to war2Combat, aside from remastered graphics that some people like, are either the 12 selectable units OR health/mana bars. If these 2 features can be set in war2Combat, i think there will be nothing better than Blizzard's stuff, unless they come up with huge new update with way more stuff

Where are upgrade stats too? Is it in same file as unit stats? Which editor should I use ladik or winMPQ? Do I need a list file?

hey buddies danny again and welcome back to another mod.

Description:

-There's a guy in War2Combat community that has made a Warcraft 2 game re-balance for a couple of unit/spells since June, 2024.
He included his changes into a couple of "most likely" Multiplayer maps that are played on Russian server, online.

-I've talked with him and just decided to make a campaign mod which include all of his in-mind rebalance purposal for Warcraft 2.

-The mod contains a sub-folder with the changes for BaseCampaigns experience OR DAIFE mod.
DAIFE is one of my oldest mods but its been taken from the last update that it recieved, so the version 6_963 (https://gamebanana.com/mods/288680)

-Changes (for now) include:
a) mana cost changes for different spells:
heal: 4mana/1hp
exorcism: 2mana/1hp
bloodlust: 100 mana
fireball: 80 mana
death oil: 80 mana
polymorph: 150 mana
blizzard: 80 mana
death & decay: 80 mana
whirlwind: 80 mana
unholy armor: 200 mana

b) bloodlust nerfed to 2x damage

c) auto-heal for paladins

d) upgrade power boosts:
-ground armor upgrades from +2 to +1
-ground sword upgrades from +2 to +1
-arrow upgrades from +1 to +2
-catapult damage upgrades from +15 to +20

-Personally included Repairable catapult/ballistas feature for this mod
