Oh, my mistake.  The way the article was phrased made it sound like they were talking about a calendar.

I read the article, and it says it's about a calendar.

How is it your idea when that's what i just said in the post you quoted.  "If someone wants to find a way to include a skill rating, that's welcome to me, but I'm not convinced that's how people should be ranked."

The way i see it people would be ranked in the case's way though, but skill rating would be there and you could like click skill rating to sort by skill rating.

edit: but this is dependant on someone being able to come up with a good skill formula and being able to add it into the code.  i recall sending you or mouse the ladder code some time in the past.  now mouse probably has easy access to it.  If anyone wants to help with this, they're welcome.  Or if they want to code in some automated activity formula. that's cool with me.

o create a "is blid worthless" thread and post there, lil blid. This thread is about mousetopher worship
this is the only possible worthwhile discussion that's going to happen in this thread.

I demote people whenever inactivity is brought to my attention.  I honestly like the Case's format.  Some people agree with me on that.  Others want some sort of skill ranking (like built-in ladder, but built-in ladder rankings are terrible).  But that's a matter of debate.  If someone wants to find a way to include a skill rating, that's welcome to me, but I'm not convinced that's how people should be ranked.  Like I said, that's something people have argued about but there's no clear answer and there's no part of this is just me refusing change.

5165
Ah now we get to the heart of the matter.  You have no examples of me opposing change but you're mad I don't delete posts when they insult you.

5166
What exactly am I opposed to changing?

is it just me or does snake game constantly not pick up my commands.  i hit, say, down arrow and then right  arrow back to back, and right arrow never pushes.  but my finger is literally holding down the button still as i hit a wall.

It's not a bad idea, but it would just be another thing to keep up with and I don't think the number of people who would use it justifies the effort involved in setting it up right now. Maybe in the future, and ideally in a form that would allow it to link with both the forum & the website.

if you don't put in any effort how do you expect the game to grow?
Not having a forum calendar is what's holding this game back!

Curveball

Okay, so if I install a game designed for another arcade software I have to manually select WHICH software it is in the settings for that game. Got Snake to work with the IPB Arcade setting, but no luck with the other two. It looks like the forum you snagged them from is vbulletin? Do they successfully submit the scores on there? Can you look and see if there's a version number for the arcade?

That's where I got Snake and Curveball as you can tell and yes it has high scores for both.

yeah it's green but gifcam weirded it up, i think it's because gifcam internally uses that shade of green as "transparent" for space saving reasons, basically when like you put gifcam over part of your screen and hit record, and all the parts of the screen that DONT change will juts be put in that shade of green in subsequent captured frames up until they change.  and somehow this tetris piece green being similar bonked the color

~`~` GaMe ReVieWs `~`~

Five star games
tetris: solid tetris game
pacman: good pacman game

Four star games
None

Three star games
pingpong: the ball physics are bad sometimes but the game is ok.  i think curveball is superior but theres room for both games
donkey kong: same level over and over... a bit repetitive but it works
asteroids??   havent played it much, just enough to find ghost bullets appearing but otherwise seems ok

Two star games
avoider: simple concept but fun, except it's brkoen.  it bugs and pieces get stuck, which allows for scores that cant be beat otherwise.  if it werent for that it'd be cool
frogger2: not a great frogger game
breakout: pretty bare bones version, kind of crappy. had it as a three star game but realized it belongs with frogger2.

One star games
duckhunt... it's a great port of the game but it just goes on forever.  no point wasting your time trying to set a score if it's just a matter of wasting time the longest
frogger... a worse frogger game than frogger2
tetris2... okay, but an inferior version of tetris
nblox... basically same as tetris but doesnt submit scores

i hgavent played (not much interest):
billiards
simon
solitaire
target shoot
mumu
rsnake
are any of these any good?
