All I can think is OMG how many hours of work have you put in?

HUGE amount of work  Really good work  Totally amazing results.

Thanks @Mistral for all the effort you put into doing this for the community. You are a champion!

:thinking:Why don't you wait, GRRR, till we finish well at least the 'advanced' description?
especially, GRRR, if you do not want to do that by yourself.  :-X GRRRR!!!

. As a result, the product cannot satisfy basic needs, namely:

I think what both of you are trying to say is:

"THANKS MISTRAL, you deserve a well earned rest after all the MONTHS of work you have put in for us. Later I want to make a more user friendly GUI, will you please help me with that?"

Then if you're lucky he might forget how rude you are and help.

Getting a working format together for a stable release is amazing. Make your own effing GUI (or nah?).... or better still use the perfectly decent one he already made and make a few maps.

It's free gift of someone's hard work. It's a beta. Use it. Test it. Make helpful suggestions. Be grateful.

Fucking amazing work Mistral :chuckisthemuscle: Well Done!

...on their national day, I fully support America focusing on, and celebrating the things that make their country great, because there are many great things there. The guys who wrote the US constitution were having a REAL go at being decent human beings, and arguably did a better job than anyone else in history.

Happy birthday America. Be proud of your country, remember why it is great, and defend those principles from all who would corrupt them whether foreign or domestic.

Yes. I would like all Americans to think about the principles their country was founded on and defend them. Any sane person would.

Well done America  You had us worried for a while there ...

@fois
Nice work on the plugins. Great stuff here

Rebuilt your autowarlat thing in ASM and added a fix for that annoying "*\/:><|+^&" message.

Feel free to use this if you want.
Code: [Select]
; Autowarlat by fois.   ASM conversion and additions from Lambchops
.486
.model flat, stdcall
option casemap :none

 include    \masm32\include\windows.inc

  mov eax,1
  ret
DllMain endp

end DllMain

;autowarlat.def
;
;LIBRARY autowarlat
;EXPORTS
;w2p_init

 -- edit --

or if you want you can just zero the string and disable the message alltogether

like:

Code: [Select]
  ; patch string table
  mov eax,STRINGTABLE_PTR
  mov eax,[eax]
  add eax,STRING_OFFSET
  mov dword ptr[eax],  0h

of course it only changes the message on the local client, other players not using the plugin will still see "*\/:><|+^&"

you're getting your events mixed up lambchops

I know exactly who I'm talking about. Sure I wrote 5 not 4, my irrelivant bad.

Floyd was tortured to death by 3 cops while another one stood guard and made sure nobody saved him. Do you think the fact that once they held him down and hancuffed him only that one guy was needed to finish him off changes anything?

All 4 are clearly guilty of murder under the law.

Nothing in Floyd's past was known to his murderers when they killed him. They just killed him because they wanted to prove they could treat him however they wanted and thought they would get away with it. NOT because of his history (which they did not know) just because they thought he was beneath them.

_If_ he was a terrible person it is not only irrelivant to "admit it", it is a weak attempt at diminishing a hideous crime, and by extension the countless other similar crimes.

That was a long slow painful humiliating and terrible way to die. God. Imagine it was you or a member of your family driving home drunk and they just dragged you out of your car and killed you on the street. Slowly. While people watched you beg for your life.

Think about it. Ask yourself if you really want to try to diminish that crime.

« on: June 16, 2020, 05:53:17 AM »

Yeah another suppose bug and that one is new from this year (2020), i exactly know what you talk about it happen to me 2 times this months and never i had that before 2020.

I use the original BNE CD updated to 2.02 by logging in to battle.net and letting it update. The last time I did that was maybe 2009-2010, so it is definitely not combat edition related.

Call it a bug or a feature if you want, but it is part of the official game. IDK why you have never noticed it before... are you learning better micro skills in  your old age maybe? ;)

If it was only from one version then it would cause desync/drop like updated AI in a comps game.

The George floyd incident involved two people who were both wrong.

One of them maybe stole a pack of cigs (and even if we assume that now nobody knew it for sure at the time) so then 5 people publicly tortured him to death in the street.

So both the same thing eh? Few bad apples?

  --------------

Question: If one of the cops who were beating reporters and bystanders (bigger crime than stealing a pack of cigs) was publicly tortured to death by 5 black guys would you be saying "both wrong"?

Don't answer I really don't care about your opinion. You are truly repulsive.

The fact that this asshole is admin is the main reason I have no time for this server any more.

You see this in chop when you are collecting ground units before opening.

Once an ogre has been attacked is remains connected to the unit that attacked it. So unless you STAND it then the ogre will respond the next time that unit attacks anything.

Even when there are other ogres that are closer to the enemy but still not close enough to respond, the "connected" orges will run past them to attempt to counter.

Only from d&d? Never noticed... I thought it was cats also but maybe I'm wrong.

Yes. It's very annoying. Press [T].

Server.War2.ru / Re: R.I.P. Ch0ppy
« on: June 03, 2020, 10:06:34 PM »

He was I believe #2 most played games behind braviet on the server. We lost a huge part of the server.

The thing Manny was most proud of about his stats was his losses. That's the only thing I ever heard him brag about.

"#1 most losses in the game."

The part he didn't need to say was the part that everyone else already knew. More than 75% of those games he hosted himself. Probably 90% for all I know. Manny could have made his stats as good as he wanted, and in truth he did.

He was, without any shadow of a doubt, the best and fairest host in the game. He always tried to balance the game, and if it couldn't be balanced he would take the disadvantage on his own team.

That was just his nature. Manny was always, first and foremost, a gentleman. The proof of that was that he remained a gentleman despite often being surrounded by a bunch of purile man-children. When he had to he would stand his ground with good nature and good humor, but no more than that, and in doing so gained the love and respect of all who knew him.

I can't remember how many times things were slow on the server and it would be hard to even get 4 players together to play a game, then Manny would log in and start hosting and instantly there were full games because everyone knew that meant a good host and ggs for all.

I don't remember who I was talking to late one night. Things were slow and were were just chatting about life and stuff, but I remember saying that Ch0ppy was my hero, and I meant it. They laughed and said "why?".  To be fair I guess that person probably didn't play chop a lot, but I wasn't much interested in the conversation after that. I guess if you don't known then you don't know.

But I suppose now I should at least try to answer that question.

It's partly for the reasons I have outlined above; his good nature, good humor, endless patience and sense of fair play, but more so it's because I knew those things about him, absolutely, despite the fact that he didn't brag, and always listened more than he spoke. Manny loved his family, although he wouldn't often talk about them unless you asked, but when he did you could always feel the love and pride behind his words. He was genuine, even from behind a computer he still treated everyone as human beings and not just some part of a game. I never saw him ever type a single word that he wouldn't have said to someone face to face, his humanity always shone through.

Manny will remain my hero and one of the best human beings I have ever know. I will always regret never having had the chance to meet him in person. Goodbye, old friend. This was way too soon.

There was thousand of bots in thousand of channels, wich ones you talk abouts??

umm... THIS one. <-- thread read 16261 times. You can't be serious right?

The AutoIt scripts were on en.war2.ru for years. Can't see them there now, but they're probably still on the ftp server somewhere.

That's sweet. I can make a page about the hostbot on the site with all the info on how to use it that you can link to from the profile or w/e if you think that'd be helpful.

...and the hostbot was sweet, but my question remains:

Anyone here seriously think nobody was using that stuff in game before they thought to automate a host bot with it?

WELL BRO!! I DINT KNOW THAT, BUT THANK YOU!

Pop quiz: How did the hostbot work??

The scripts have been on the server website for years in plain text.....

Anyone here seriously think nobody was using that stuff in game before they thought to automate a host bot with it? How about the tooth fairy? Anyone believe in that? Santa maybe?

For TK. I tried to explain you how editing the MPQ for hotkeys is a big advantage but its hard to do it in a chat, so heres the explanation.

With a keyboard which allows to change hotkeys, you could make pressing o press q instead for example. So that now you press q to make ogres. Same thing for all other hotkeys, p for peon is now w instead, etc. But its still only 1 key --> becomes another key. You still need to use the same amount of hotkeys as before, you just changed the keys.

By editing the MPQ you can do much better things :

Example :

q makes an peon when you have an hall selected,
but it also makes an ogre when you have a barrack selected.
It also do bloodlust when  .../snip/..... Its a tremendous advantage.

And all those MILI SEC advantages in a 25 minutes games... Make you a 3-4 minutes advantage on your opponnents..... 3-4 minutes advantages over your ennemies IS ALOTT DUDE...

LOL

changing hotkeys like that might give you a VERY small advantage if you relearned years of instincts... pretty sure it would make me play a lot worse for a while until i got the hang of it.

 .... BUT ....

If you want to get serious about stopping cheating you have to stop autoit/ahk. It's all so much trash talk until you do that.

Compare this tiny mpq editing advantage to the following script outline...

Image search the left pane for the barracks icon to appear
as soon as it appears send a G keypress.

Now all you have to do is select your rax and it builds a grunt... not even detectable with warvid - nobody can tell if you pressed G or the script did.

Upgrade to ogres? Define a hotkey CTRL-O now the script sends O when you select a rax.

Same thing when you select a smith ... send W or H

There has been sooooo much of this kiddie-script automation crap going on for years, and you all know it. But you want to complain about people changing their hotkeys?

If someone is changing their hotkeys so they can actually still press it with their finger I say that's a step in the right direction  ;D

Ok now all accuse me of doing this stuff, and I'll just be offended by the utter noobishness of using kiddie-script engines.

I've been biting my tongue for years not talking about this stuff because I didn't want noobs to get ideas, but seriously why bother? May as well give them the same advantage the "pros" have eh?
