Just done.
Its not a secret....that site has been up for years. People who don't know about are the real dumbasses including yourself. Site serves other gaming utilties for users also. It can be found with a simple google search you hoe.
Sure, but that doesn't mean we should public such links on our site.

oh, you redirected all your traffic into this static nat?
I didn't understand what's the difference between this static NAT and DMZ, but maybe that is a problem with port forwarding on another computer...

However it still works on the main computer that it is all hooked up to. This one is on wireless and I did all the same port forwarding and firewall stuff as usual.
Then i didn't understand: you forwarded your main computer using this static map, so what about the 2-nd wireless computer?
Can you send SS of port forwarding section?

It shows  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10000
Looks like some kind of special NAT option which changes outgoing port during address translation.
What router do you use? I mean model.
Can you also post all your router admin panel screenshots related to NAT or virtual server? Probably PM it.

Hm, that's interesting...
Looks like you are not using Game Data Port changed on your war2 computer. Maybe a router configuration with redirect port internal 6112 to external 10001?
I just checked your games: most ports are 6112, several 10001, several 10000.

Do you have enough privileges to see ip:port while typing "/games"? Try to host the game from that computer to get that 10001 or 10000 port again and type /games. Your game ip:port should show xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10001, that means something with your router. Otherwise it's a bug in my software and have to be fixed.

I never saw that problem and that could be important to resolve it...

Sure, it's possible, i just don't remember the file to replace. I'd begin from \art\Unit\Portrait\portrait.grp
Not sure how to work with grp, i'd begin from this site:

Server.War2.ru / Re: 2 people on same IP cant host games
« on: February 14, 2015, 12:58:32 PM »
Although, dmz can only be enabled to one device ip (computer, tablet, console, etc..) on the modem/router.
Exactly, dmz can provide port forwarding for 1 computer only.
That's why they should use single port forwarding for several computers. That's why they have to install war2combat with "random port" option, that will help to use different ports on different computers.
Also they have to forward port1 for comp1 and port2 for comp2 on the router. War2PLoader (included to combat 4.01) will do that for them automatically.

Then they should be:
1. play using the shared internet in one game.
2. host the game from each computer to let others (and another comp from the same shared connection) to join that game.

Also why don't you encourage those 2 to come forth on the forum instead of having an intermediary speak for them, they would learn more if they are proactively looking for their own solution.
Sure, why not to register on forum and ask that themselves? It will take 1 min and will be much more useful to them.

they are sharing internet

they can join games, they can play eachother apparently... but cant host their own games

what are possible solutions?

if concrete answers have already been posted plz link to answers

this is manual configuration: http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,151.0.html
Easier solution is to install war2combat 4.01 with default port on the 1-st computer and random port on others (2-nd, 3-tr, etc.) That should work also.
Leet them try and let us know if that's working.

Is it the same thing? http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,229.0.html
Or something different?

us admins are lazy
Also note that 170 + 76 < 256, lol.

Counting people stats is not the thing admins should trust to players to do, or there are some "mistakes" possible...

Harrywangs, i appreciate your point of view and agree with it. Same as several of some other people.
You are definitely not alone in this.
But the problem is what to do with that.
I feel like I am just reading a bunch of high school kid's Facebook posts.

Same. Maybe this community is exactly what you talking about?..
Then we should touch nothing: everything goes perfect and everybody is happy.

I do care about this game and would like to see real matters and legit concerns dealt with in a more appropriate and controlled atmosphere by fellow players who are not admins. Weather that means deleting posts or banning people from posting to a specific topic (I have no idea if that can be done).

I agree with you 100%, but community don't. Of course that can be done, the problem is just then we will loose people then.
Each community settles down the place it likes, when the place begins to change in basic, community just run away. So we should keep the place according to community wishes, with probable small differences.
But my sense of this: the community should initiate this process.
Let them try different variants: hitlerizm, democracy, anarchy, freedom, anything else, compare and make their choice themselves.

there is about 90% trolling/sh*t talking 10% productive war2 related discussion here on the forums... and it is really annoying i agree.

That's pretty easy to do: just to edit the message, select part of message and click spoiler button. About 10 sec per 1 post. Can easily done by me, you, blid, mousey and the message owner.
Just would be good to spoil exactly the offtop part carefully, from all the posts.
I still didn't need that because i didn't see anything useful since spoiler installation.

That's probably the reason why mousetopher never logs or contributes to this forum anymore. I actually made a thread about "this forum being a shithole", some people agreed, but the main argument against it was that stupid poll, in which anonymous players decide how the forum should be moderated.

I hope mousetopher is quite busy with her work, so she has no time to join...

That's interesting: most people in these topic agree that something goes wrong, they mostly prefer some kind of moderation.
But they told about power abusing and freedom of speech in our conversations before.
Something changed? Or it's some kind of misunderstanding and this subject is something different?

Another interesting thing is this Rules poll: http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,163.0.html
Looks like voices changed in last several days, as several people changed their votes:
Spam, obnoxious pictures, offtopic garbage - changed to 6/4 muting/nothing instead of (was about 1/5 before)

My PM to mouse below

Agreed with your point in general.
Just small notes:
I gave up all my moderation powers because i saw people have been totally disagree when i punished Equinox. But i considered (and consider now) that i did it properly and it was fair.
That was a total discord between me and community (include other admins except Lightbringer). And admin/mod should never follow against comminuty, i think so.
That's not about me: i could try to be something like Margaret Thatcher or Hitler or Putin, but should i? Will that be good for community?
That poll was definitely my idea only and you can be sure no anonymous votes are possible. And i can see who voted and how, so i can definitely note that there's no any random votes from smurfs or w/e. And admins cannot change votes of others. So, this poll is fair.
I agree with all of your other terms.

Server.War2.ru / Re: TOR/VPN In russia
« on: February 13, 2015, 02:48:30 AM »
Yes, another part in information wars...

I just hope "Ban Looming on the Horizon" by Leonid Levin is not the same as "Ban provided already".
Just wonder on how's that possible to prevent TOR or VPN usage totally.

There's lots of stupid ideas about information security coming from russian government (from people far from IT)...
I think the main thing is efforts against political propaganda in Russia now...

I thought the RU server moved to germany.
It's not about to stop the server functioning, it's about to block the server ip/name from Russian providers.
But of course, they can close some domains in .ru (i think because of pirate or political reasons mainly - not related to our project)

Valkrie = Roger Keith Coleman?
Is that his profile? http://war2.warcraft.org/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=39

Any other info about him? What happened, what for?

Maybe if you take all these wav is possible to make them lower size, but it will lose small quality, nothing important, gonna be literally new waves, same sound, but a little bit lower quality, dont even think we can made a difference.
Sure, and it already works so: MPQ format supports lossy compression for wav-files with manually selected ratio from 0 to 9.
Original blizzard MPQs already distributed with some compress ratio, otherwise the whole sound data would be about 2x (or probably 5x) bigger.
I used some compromise values to keep sound good and to reduce the total size of archive.
That's why war2 is being already distributed by blizzard with some kind of lossy wavs, so original midi music could be better in case of using perfect sound card...
And what is that actual bitrate?
I don't remember, something like 16 or 32 kbps, at least i'd wonder if something like 196 or 256 will work...

1305
If you take a new wav rename it as the same one of any one in the mpq file and replace it... Did your new sound will play for this linked action instead the old one.
Sure, that is how it worked before for combat. Several useless wavs have been replaced to "empty" wav with 0 length and no sound.
If you just delete wav and the game try to play it - it will crash.
You can also change any wavs to anything you want: localized sounds, sounds for another game, etc. Just make sure your new wav has supported bitrate or w/e. War2 supports just several options...
