since war2 connects people to other's modems, the problem with delay and confliction, I think the problem is rooted in the fact that we connect to people across the globe. So the packets have to travel too far. Every time I play with someone from europe, or south america I get huge delay and I can barely play.

Also warcraft 2 uses 100% cpu, I don't know if there's any solution for that, but the CPU savior doesn't work properly.

blid is a blatant idiot. and Il is competely gone.

obviously TK is right in saying it all needs to be redone.

I tried accomplishing this myself in what ways I could, with war2 custom ( which is far superior to war2combat in every way)

When that project failed, war2 lost like 50% of it's player base in disappointment.

Of course lance was a shit person, but a great developer. It's hard to say how war2 custom would have turned out, but I think lance would of been a necessary evil, and honestly what's the worst he could have done? There's being able to do something, and then facing the consequences.

i've taught more players than anybody. i could teach you this or that, but i could also make you good in a few weeks. But for that I would have to charge you.
my most successful student is LoNe

LoNe used to be so good he could 1v2 me and swift, it was insane.

other than that, i wouldn't recommend you learn from anyone other than shotgun. He's better than me, but not a better teacher.

I think I'm a good teacher because I've done it so much that people tend to have the same issues, ask the same questions, make the same mistakes etc. and i can easily tell what's occurring and correct it. Other players can do it too, but I don't think they can get inside people's heads to understand their perception of what's in front of them. That's what I'm good at in general.

Vizzer is decent, but I don't think he really understands too much about the game at a competitive level.

When would you like to do a series yamon? Have you fixed your unit delay issue?
no everything is completely messed up and i can't fix it. I need help from iL but i don't feel like contacting him so it will probably be months before i start playing again

now I'm having an issue where i used CPU savior, I think it edited my registry to put war2 on 1 cpu, and my game is in slow motion. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, and i can't fix it :(

are you idiot, mister jamon
I pinged myself while in a game, not while in channel. It also doesn't seem to matter when I play people in my geographic location, which suggests even though it's p2p, the server still has an impact. The only players i know from europe who lag are gleip and spb. And that's just because their ports are closed, literally no one else from europe has an issue. And when I play against sepi or alf, they aren't lagging. But I am. And for the last 2 years every single time an american player starts playing on the server, they quit shortly after because they have to forward their ports, and then they still lag. Not only that, but 80% of american players who started playing on lance's server, not only were their ports opened automatically, but no one was lagging. I don't have any real opinion on iL. I'm completely impartial when I say that he's done good work, but much more work needs to be done just to get the game functioning the way it's supposed to be. Never mind improving it. And it's common sense that one developer who works in his spare time and never has any, the game's management and development is at a sub-chronic halt. Why doesn't iL have people help him manage the server? And why would you have to forward port 6112 if the server doesn't handle the connection to your router in any sort of fashion? Is it not possible that the smallest minute detail or problem in this process could be causing problems? And i'm not jumping the gun to pointing a finger at the server. I've thought this problem was on my end for years. But after moving twice in a few months with three separate internet connections, carriers and qualities, and re-imaging my computer to an entirely different version of windows, with no hardware problems i think it's most likely on the program or server's end. I'm not sure which. I've also tried various versions of combat edition, including the current one, and ones i used when i didn't have this problem.

server ping does not matter when the game starts

poor excuse, son

This. how do people think that ping to server causes lag between players, after all these years

server ping does not matter when the game starts

poor excuse, son

then why was battle.net divided by region?

so that the players would have low pings to other players, who would be relatively nearby geographically

exactly. So is there a way to make a medium so when I play against alf-attack in sweden I don't have massive lag?

300ms = 0.3sec delay nice try XD
1000ms = 1 sec
this game got 22 years old, this game will got delay ....................
so you think a 22 year old game that was made for 56k can accurately use this formula?

Tora, Logan, and I all have about 300 ping. You can't play a multiplayer game with a ping of 300. that's way too high. I believe it's because of the server location ( germany i believe ). I'm not even going to play this game anymore. The lag is unbearable. It's no wonder I have trouble beating the europeans, they all have a ping of 60-80. This 3 second unit delay per command adds up real fast over the course of a game. I can't fix this problem, so I don't think I'm going to keep playing.
