@Harrywangs Agree about the SS.

IMHO GOG WC2 was a flash-in-the-pan cash grab and their server has only one use.

There should be a bot there moving between channels and spamming anyone who joins to come play with us.

I fear that old players will get nostelgic and buy it ... then log on to GOG server and think WC2 is totally dead without ever knowing this community exists.

You don't need stealthbot or any of that, just a simple macro-based bot would work fine.

Orc means your playing

Human means your watching

Random means your afk

If you want to play as human after the count down begins you change to human.
Standard rules.

Thats not the way the interface was originally designed .... must be a hack

It is a very unusual day that I don't play WC2. Mostly I play a few hours every day. Sometimes when I have a day off I will play for 12 hours straight. I think my record is around 80 hours straight, although I don't reccommend that.

Ok you are suffering from serious video game addiction. I did suffer from it for a couple years but thankfully I have it under control now. It’s not healthy to be playing video games for more than 10-15 hours a week. Try taking a 1 week break.

Haha. Yeah at times I have been. At the moment I'm just working and saving money and mostly keeping quiet. It's a useful free way to entertain myself in the evenings .... well that and I'm an addict lol

Yeah I'm yet to hear any reasoned argument against it, apart from "it's not in the original interface".

I can see no reason why you wouldn't/shouldn't know that one peon has chopped more than another. IMO It is a missing feature in the original interface. Why shouldn't we improve the game instead of just saying "it's old so it will die out"?

But glad to hear you like the rest of the mods You can of course opt not to use the chop bars mod if you want.

No it really is. There are pleanty of good players to challenge even without the few people who want to run their mouths about how good they are and trash talk everyone else.

Actually THOSE people are in the minority. They will only be the majority when everyone else has finally left because they're sick of listening to it.

I don't know what source you're taking your statements from. If you made a poll that said "Do you like it when people yell abuse at you while you're learning a game?", then please publish the results.

I'm in AUS of course (UTC+10) so I usually only see you if I'm up late and you decide to play early in the morning. I first stared playing on RU when I was working night-shift and finishing at 6am, so the time zones worked out pretty well back then.

Ragner saw war2 at the 1-st time when he was 4. He joined the server when he was 11. Now he sufficiently improved his skills and maybe he is going to become #1 in ladder.

Really? I didn't know he was so young. That's awesome No wonder he got so good.

If and when pros do start playing on Tupac’s server I will be curious to see if censorship will ensue when players start to trash talk each other.

My guess is they would get kicked from games, then auto bot-banned when they started up in the channel. You're forgetting there is already a friendly culture in place, everyone is laughing and having a good time. Your trash-talking pro would stand out like a fart in church.

This game is dying out because it’s over 25 years old and is only supported by a couple people. Kids play ps4, fortenight, and xbox. Try getting a 12 year old to play war2. Let me know how that goes.

Millions of people click around on online javascript arcade game pages every day looking for something to do. Of those millions, I'm sure at the very least 100 people a day would play wc2 if it was in front of them.

Shit like THIS gets played all the time by lots of people. People play games. People play good games with simple graphics. People play really bad games with aweful graphics.

No we're not going to get millions of pro gamers to come from playing the latest stuff to here, but there would be easily hundreds if not thousands of people in the world who would play WC2 if it was in front of them.

So I reject your premise.

The problem is every time a new person arrives, some arrogant pea-brain trash talks them and bans them from games, so they leave DUH. Wouldn't you?

Looks like the server for the biggest noobs to ever play this game. Maybe RU should update the client so when a newb is banned/booted from a pro game he is automatically kicked off the server and connected to the USA server 

I'm sure the USA server would 100% love that arrangement too.

Seriously, that attitude is the reason this game is dying out, I'm amazed there's anyone left who still doesn't get that. Even if it's a joke it's still the dumbest joke I've heard in a while, the most successful server is the one that is attracting the most noobs DUH, and right now USA is winning.

If USA attracts 10 new people per year and everyone on RU sits around touching themselves and bragging about how awesomely T1 they are then in 5 years time:

USA : has 60+ players (and growing)
RU   : has a handfull of wankers

iL is not stupid. He knows this, that's why he's trying to attract new players (of course). Anyone who is still even joking about kicking/banning noobs has a VERY limited imagination.

tupac this comminity is very small. very few people have the desire/ability to ddos the server.

the proof is that you went on verbal rampage, started your own server, and like the same day you announced launching it this server went down. there's not a lot of detective work necessary to know who did it/orchestrated it/had it done.

It takes ZERO detective work to jump to the most obvious conclusion.

There is no doubt SOMEBODY wanted to make it look like Tupac was attacking the server.

Like you mention, Tupac is quite outspoken and I'm pretty sure I have heard about the majority of his exploits. He would have said something at the time. I asked him privately, and I really didn't get that vibe off him at all. Usually he'd be LOLing his ass off if he was pulling some prank.

I'd say the timing is definitely NOT co-incidental.

I don't know of anybody who has played on the USA server as a result of connection issues on RU, and personally, if I actually believed Tupac was responsible for DDOSing I would probably not want to play on his server, and probably others would agree.

Tupac knows that ... so do other people ... so re-check your list of people with a motive, then think about people WHO HAVE ACTUALLY DDOSed THE RU SERVER BEFORE.

Maybe TK is convinced by such a simple ruse, but the rest of you can't all be that dumb
