i like it here because i can compare my high scores to all you newbs, i dont know whats bad about the forum game?  it has good functionality, you just like being able to have an extra bail out piece?  i can check out tetrisfriends though......

• competition
• better hotkeys
• not having to go through 1000000 meaningless, slow, worthless levels to get action

you may find this useful. It's an .exe so probably no1 will run it anyway lol. PM me your suggestions about this awesome .exe file

1. Start beeper.exe and war2
2. Press F7 (to start tracking)
3. Host the game
4. Minimize & watch porn. Wait for beeps
5. When hearing a beep, press F6 to display players in game

Hotkeys:
F6 for player display
F7 to start/pause (beeping, refreshing player list - it's good to pause when the game is started and start again when it's rehosted. If you don't, it will beep once after the game starts)
F8 to turn beeper.exe off

Beep occurs when some1 leaves or joins the game.

works for melee only (can upgrade if necessary)


It wasn't much work (~~10mins) cuz it only uses the tracking function from hosting bot. Made it for myself but if you want to use it without bitching about "wtf exe viruz" then go ahead.

Didn't see this thread because I never check general discussion, but yep, I think i am an experienced hacker-wannabe now that I can edit screenies. Thou shalt not worry, though, because I am the most legit player evar and will use my knowledge to catch the hackers, nothing else!

wouldnt it be easier to just require warvids instead of implementing the entire versioncheck for tournaments?

Ok. I still feel screentest-1.pcx is a legit ss. How did you edit that one? PM if necessary. Is it really edited? How long did you take?

It is edited. It can't be legit because look at the middle-left mine, it shouldn't be there. Same for the upper building @ 8. It didn't take longer than 5 mins.
I don't think it's wise to tell how it's done, black-box wisdom that it's indeed edited should be enough for educational/preventional/research purpose. Personally I think I'd be able to catch a lot of SS edits now.

Having said all that, I forgot that mainstream maphacks don't toggle off on "legit" war2 versions, the versioncheck is less useless in my eyes now. I'd still wait for the anti-hack instead, but whatevs. That's the first valid argument and I respect that
