Also note that this instruction: http://server.war2.ru/support/warcraft-ii-hosting-latency-fix/ is working, but not perfect:
1. you should have real ip to let people join you.
2. You should not forward ports 6112-6119 and 4000 Both TCP+UDP. Only one 6112 UDP should be enough.
3. You should not use both port forwarding and DMZ. Eighter one of another should be enough.

My instruction: http://war2.warcraft.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25391 is much better, but also need to add about War2PLoader could be used instead of that.

Just check the ports with your stuff add it to the bot to test ports at every hour and re log the bot. Solved.
That will work only if bot if online.
Also ports are actually forwarded, the problem with bot is really low latency, so port tester return true, but some people can not join it and others can.
Should I get my host bot working again???
Sure, you can research it as long as you wish, you don't need to ask anyone. Just start it and let people use it if you can.
I'd appreciate if you share the source code of your bot, but it's up to you.
I went to logon today...it said update or something...then said it was like 16 bit when im runnin 32 bit...so no update...um what?

everyone can understand english and port 6112 is pretty obvious.

Some russian newbies don't know english at all. I suppose there's some french, spanish, etc newbies who don't know english too.
And 6112 is just default port. There's about 5% of people with different default port now. Non-default port could be one of possible problems, but it should actually work with War2PLoader UPNP.
Combat 4.01 also allows to use non-default random port.

why does it say port 16112 ?? i thought it was just 6112

6112 is just default. I changed it to non-default because i'm loo lazy to close port-forwarding on my router, while testing this message.

I suggest using the /finger command and parsing the country/language to determine which language to whisper.

Yes, something like that. More precisely it uses this thing http://server.war2.ru/status/ to parse all such information about each user. It sends a notification for each user with gray game created.

What do you think is the next most important thing to fix/add next?
I see 2 the most important things:
1. antihack, "to close that shitty client" without blocking any version, but to block all the known and some unknown cheats.
2. directdraw fix, to let people forget about color rainbow, broken prtsrc in chat, etc.

I think it should be something that keeps people playing like custom icons at certain win intervals eg) 50 wins 200 wins etc and/or some type of ingame automatic ladder/rating system which could determine your icon based on rank on ladder?. There needs to be something to motivate and keep players interested.

It's not that much of Big problem some one needs to edit the source of ddraw.dll and change the resolution. I'll give it a shot. I don't even know what language its in a have very little free time right now. But I'll do some research.
I'd appreciate if you have some research for this way.
Let me know if you have the source code for something working.
Also war2 windowed mode (the source code) would be appreciated.

Note that it's not about static or dynamic ip.
It's about real (white) or unreal (gray) ip.

Static ip (which you buy for several $ per month) will also be real most likely.
But both static and dynamic ip could be real.

So, you should check if your ip is real or unreal before anything else.

Buy new router that supports UPNP?

This new router will not help if your ip is unreal.
It will help for lazy users only who can not setup their upnp-incompatible router properly. Also i don't think there are many routers with no UPNP support left now.

According to lance's stats people with pnp enabled routers was 80% so fixing 80% of people's hosting problems is sufficient, I say the new version of combat is a success and the hosting problem is official solved.

I'll check that stat about % of upnp-compatible routers also.
But also note that upnp-compatible router will not help if your ip is unreal.
Also note that you can be connected directly to your ISP, then upnp port forwarding will fail, but you can host games.
Same with properly configured port forwarding with upnp-incompatible router.

but it could get smarter if he applied memory reading to it

The best way would be to find $10 per month to start windows-hosting. It will resolve the problem with lagging connections to GameBot.

Not with antivirus programs....admin rights would easily allow you to bypass that advisory that blid posted.
Sure, i agree. But antivirus programs should not write anything suspicious about combat and it's elements.

I hope there will be 5 symantec users to allow combat soon to resolve blid's problem.

It shouldnt even be a problem...long as you have admin rights which most users have...a exe would be fine...however you should load a zip file anyways.
It's an officially supported option for combat to work with no admin rights.

Do you mean user "note"?
It just logs on right after you create the closed game, whispers his message and logs off.
It doen't check anything, check uses different engines.

I changed nothing in UPNP engine.
The difference is you had 2 or 3 different upnp-compatible devices except router before.
Today you have only 1 (except router).
Maybe some kind of conflict between UPNP devices?
Did you switch off any of them now?

But is have been marked as open while you tried...
That's interesting, i think some kind of false positive is possible, depend on your server interconnection, i just didn't test it...

Can you retry that again? Maybe it will show closed next time...

Though, not only your PORT TESTER, but OTHER PORT TESTERS I've come across like emule's also detect is as CLOSED but the port is indeed open and the emule client connects without further hassle.
No idea why that should be so. Try that, but i guess eighter my tester shows it open or nobody can join your game.

just tried it, got no messages with closed port
And is it possible to join your game for others?
