Thank you for this appreciation.

why is this stickied?
-
because it's essential. The target of this thread are newcomers, and the first thing they do is check the sticky threads. So my question to you, Spencer, is: why shouldn't it be stickied?
-
Because im a star buddy and it's perfect dont move this, thank you.

a good admin never abuses his powers!
you should try my method yourself, the forum is now 5% related to war2 stuff! (unlike 0.00001% which users without newcomer starting pack experience). you better do it while its still free
-
Im ok i prefere to use this thread as a windows for me, you guys are making me famous while your sucking big russian cock, loser!

If you hadn't ignored me, I mentioned this like 8 times already :)
-
I think a new user can get by with just Eq and Winchester on ignore, personally. But on the whole I do actually think this is pretty good advice. The flame wars are polluting the entire forum. I'm going to go ahead and sticky this thread.
-
I've got no problem with being on an ignore list. Though when I do make a normal post that isn't flame or sarcastic (like in a general discussion or such), someone just quote me so the person can see it I suppose for a suitable response.
Like for Claw right now :P

you want my opinion ill give it to you, i don't believe in muting a player. i believe in fair, i believe in freedom of speech. as much as i dislike a third party i wouldn't mute. obviously if im getting sapmmed in game like the koorb thing i'd file a complain... (common sense applies)
-
i think having this stickied is a really bad idea ..
1) it could piss off the users mentioned (id be pissed if an admin stickied this and my name were included) 2) claw himself is more abusive in his posting than any of the 3 mentioned, and 3) if i were a new user coming to these forums and saw a stickied thread at the top of the list telling me to ignore it's own users i'd be like "wtf is going on here?"
seems really silly to me.
-
3) if i were a new user coming to these forums and saw a stickied thread at the top of the list telling me to ignore it's own users i'd be like "wtf is going on here?"

yeah, #3 precisely lol.
id bet 9 out of 10 people that just joined the forum and clicke the thread wouldn't even understand what is that post about.
-
DONT FUCKING MOVE MY STICKED THREAD, THATS A NICE WAY TO MAKE ME MORE FANS.

yeah, #3 precisely lol.
and later they decide to enter a random thread with 3 page eq-winchester flame and they know by then

The only thing i know about newbe is they are gonna know me and gonna love me when they gonna play with me for real.
Your making me famous but your too stupid to realize.
Thank you.

and ultimately everyone will decide on themselves wether to ignore or not a user, id bet 9 out of 10 newcomers wont ignore a player they just met.
this thread complies more to an emotional response on your part.
this thread is like those i-quit-threads, pretty much the same. noone cares. and are just silly....
....and blid decided to sticky it. heh heh.
-
and this is the newbie guide to simplify thing out. It's like "gow rush in a nutshell" threads or "how to host" to make the nooblords life better! everything for the noobs
besides shut up or else

Thank you.
and you're too stupid to crave for fame. fame is the most banal and ridiculous thing to seek for.
-
hey claw why are you not calling yourself a n***** for posting this in a forum that it doesn't belong?
it only bothers you when other people do it?or are you just seeking attention and that's the only way you know how
-
this belongs here
also yes
-
lalalala thread of the year, got my own fucking sticky, victory.
-
a thread that has nothing to do with server.war2.ru now belongs in a server.war2.ru forum in claw's mind. good to know. that means we should never hear him complain about moving threads any more.
-
what about 'wecome to the new forum' or that one: http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,399.0.html (http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,399.0.html)
its a general consensus that threads heavily about this forum or server.war2.ru section in particular are allowed here
-
took me 10 seconds to find these two, but im sure theres like 10+ examples

Found it is easier to ignore the spammers completely by adding their names into your ignore list. You don't even see their posts at all when browsing the forum, just comes up as a message "you are ignoring this person". Works in my opinion, give it a try! :D Be more active, one way you can help change the tone of this forum is by enforcing this positive attitude of yours.
;)
BTW you including names of people in there is actually not helping anything...seems like you trying to instigate. :P
-
Your newcomer starter pack isn't without value Claw, but what it translates into is "Hey new users, our mods can't control these X people so mute them for your own peace of mind" -- not a great message to send. We're in the process of implementing new moderation techniques that will hopefully obsolete the need for such workarounds.
