Title: LAN Party in the USA
Post by: O4L on May 14, 2015, 10:10:33 PM
You know this really would be awesome. I believe if one was actually officially being set up then a nice amount of RU current and past players would show up. I bet we could get at least 20-40 people that would be willing to come to this with enough advance notice.

So thoughts? Would you be interested in attending one, where would you like it to be.

Also how much $$ would go into setting one up? I think people would be willing to donate towards a project like this.

Yeah, it is almost always only the great War2 players who are successful though. It's hard to deny the apparent parallel between top of the line War2 skills, life success and high IQ scores. Meanwhile, you will find that "average" and "barely good" players have a tendency to work for somebody else, and make lousy money to complete minuscule tasks at  9-5 jobs which afford them the ability to display about as much of their potential as they showed on war2. No coincidences here.

You'll find few exceptions to my theory. I suppose pizza delivery boy shotgun and hamburger connoisseur KHB could be used to counter my point, but they're merely outliers.

It seems like everyone who has ever tried to do a single thing for the server was singled out as a conspirator by the blid/foonat regime. All you're left with now really are a bunch of nobodies that can barely play war2 let alone offer any suggestions or come up with ideas and implement them. The best thing for war2 would be for you to step down and for iL to grow a brain, but since that's not going to happen, war2 is pretty much doomed.

It's not easy work to take time out of our lives to make war2 better. We don't have a source code, so everything has to be hacked or reversed. Shit cant be done with 1 or 2 guys only trying. We need the community to work as much as they want to play.... I'm not the best programmer but I can get shit done. I've only took one programming class and most networking.... I have several projects I'm working on I appreciate you helping me. I'm working on big maps, my version of anti hack, hosting bot no macros, and many more I never will mention till I release them. If you are one of the lucky testers shh ;)

Don't see why the same thing can't be accomplished on the server through team speak or other mediums. The logistics are not possible with a small community as ours.

From what I've heard, the Russian LAN party sounds way cooler than the US one.
