When a man rides a long time through wild regions he feels the desire for a city. Finally he comes to Isidora, a city where the buildings have spiral staircases encrusted with spiral seashells, where perfect telescopes and violins are made, where the foreigner hesitating between two women always encounters a third, where cockfights degenerate into bloody brawls among the bettors. He was thinking of all these things when he desired a city. Isidora, therefore, is the city of his dreams: with one difference. The dreamed-of city contained him as a young man; he arrives at Isidora in his old age. In the square there is the wall where the old men sit and watch the young go by; he is seated in a row with them. Desires are already memories.

Religious, racial, or sexual intolerance
Posts containing religious, racial, or sexual intolerance, unless posted in the Flames subforum, will result in a warning and such posts will be sent to the flame forum. Frequent offenses can result in warnings or bans.
Insults and offensive language
Insults and flames in the regular forums will typically be overlooked, especially in posts that contain additional content. However, disruptive flame wars or empty content flames can result in warnings or bans, especially when moderators are forced to send a portion of a thread to the Flame forum.
Pornography and not safe for work imagery
Pornography and not safe for work material must always be accompanied by a warning and provided only in spoiler tags or by a link. This rule applies to all forums, even the Flame War forum. Offenses will result in warnings or bans.
Spam and off-topic garbage
Spam bots and spam advertising is banned. Persistent contentless posting can also result in warnings or bans.
Abuse of forum features
You can be warned or banned for falsely reporting posts, spamming karma votes, or otherwise abusing forum features.
In all cases, first offenses will usually be warnings, but repeated offenses can lead to temporary or indefinite bans.
In all cases, people can be warned or banned at the discretion of the moderators.

This is a 20-year-old game
There are some diehards around that continue to play, but that base of diehards will, inevitably, dwindle slowly. So we have fewer and fewer players
There's two obvious best ways to keep the community going:
1) Bring back old players, or make old players who drop in want to stick around
-Possible advertising, tournaments, etc.
-Do not greet players who come back (http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,1122.0.html) with a bunch of flames between Equinox and Ryu and Winchester, do not shit on them for posts they made 5 years ago.
-Don't ban names you don't recognize or people with fewer games or bad records from your games. Give them a chance to show what they can do
ie - don't be a shithead
2) Bring in new players, see if they can learn the game
-Create clans like dw for new players, don't shit on people for being in newb clans
-Help them learn the game, figure out latency
-If you won't let them play, at least let them watch. s9? -> ban is a good way to make sure none of the new players that find the server ever stick around or learn the game
ie - don't be a shithead (recurring theme)

-Lat fixes, autohost/host bot
-Any other suggestions?
