Post by: tk[as] on January 30, 2016, 05:23:29 PM
1450 sq ft. 3 bed 2 full bath w/ unfinished basement. i'll probably end up finishing most of it this year though.

im going to do landscaping .. put a hand rail on the front of the porch and paint the walls... might make it look a little better

it was built in 2011 and the previous owners were drunks and foreclosed on it from what i understand. they didnt do much to pretty it up.

142,000 for the house. 1450 sq ft .. so just under 100 per sq ft.

the house is about 10 miles outside the suburbs. same house in the suburbs would have sold for 120-130 sq/ft

Cool, a bit pricey per sqft but idk the market in your area. Personally I hate the ranch style lol, but it seems to fit you. [emoji14]

What is your lot size?
Who's the builder?

its actually pretty cheap around this area. u cant much for less than $110 sq/ft that's worth looking at

lot is 10,000 sq ft (.23 acres)

not sure about the builder, they were small though. from what i understand they went belly up during the recession

Wow nice lot size. 1500 sqft house is way to small for me, but whatever fits your family's needs...better than a apartment or that broom closet blid rents.

Well that happened to many of the builders during the housing bubble.
What are you planning on doing with the unfinished basement? Converting it into a bonus room would be nice [emoji14]

You upgrading the kitchen also? I made a outdoor kitchen at my house in NY.

5x5 meters = 269 sq ft.

in sq meters, the house is 134.7 sq meters

its a pretty average ranch house around here. nothing fancy

im going finish probably 60-70% of the basement off in the next 3-4 months. the rest will be unfinished storage. im going to put a full bath down there, living room (big enough for pool table/couch/tv), a "Study/computer room" and a spare bedroom.

wife's family live out of town so i kind of have to get it done so they have a place to crash when they come to town. finishing 60% or so of the basement will add another 800-900 livable sq ft.

.. i probably won't do anything to the kitchen for another decade or more. im a simple man. im a "does it function properly" kind of guy.. not "is it granite and mahogany"

around here tile really only gets used in places like bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens.. for this area it would be considered kind of strange to have it run through the entire house. it's either carpet or hardwood.

i like the look of hardwood and as a prior carpenter, i'd personally rather lay the hardwood than the tile.. i dont have much experience laying tile.

just different building materials for different locations.

Probably why the labor charge to install tile is outrageous [emoji52]

I prefer carpets in bedrooms only.

uhmmmm

i just cant quite get this straight

i just did the conversion, 1450 sq feet is  134 square meters.

and by judging those pictures that house looks so big and spacey for 134meters!

care to share the whole dimensions?
how many feet front, and deep?

im currently buyin and selling houses but similar size (100 square meters and such) but yours looks like it has a big ass front.
nothing compared to what im used to see :P
how many cars can you fit in that garage? two?

btw, congratz.
