On the once side making it live makes sense.
But on the other side it would make it hard for people to follow and vote.

I have though a nice counter offer.

It is live but in bunches of map creators.
Like rounds.
Lets say we have 12 contestants
you make 3 rounds of 4 (which the participate live at the same time) Each round takes place one after the other.
The 3 winners then make a final round for the winner!

This way it is live but not all contestants at the same time.

then if it is 4 contestants at each round. We can make a video with split screen sawing all 4 at the same time!

Unfortunately, I haven't set up a stream so I do not think I will manage to join on this.
I will try though to set up stream/map editor :-D If I manage I will try too ;-)

I think the only way to get a decent amount of entrees for this will be with the deadline.

I added your suggestion to the poll. One problem I foresee with it is that people may not want to wait around for their turn. Another is that if contestants are watching other contestants, later people may be able to have unfair advantage in watching the first people and seeing their process and avoid their mistakes.

As for streaming, it seemed a daunting task to me, and I was reluctant to get started, but mousey told me to follow the instruction page "like a recipe". She was right. If I of all people can do it, anyone can. I am absolutely terrible with computers. She has the page very well laid out with pictures and step-by-step instructions. Igog if you dont stream, how did you do all your commentaries?

I make a warvid and then make the commentary on top of the warvid. After I upload the video :-)

I could try to stream. One of the linux applications I use has some support for it: simplescreenrecorder it is called. The question is whether the map editor will work on linux properly.

Igogogo.. We can stream, ssr works fine for us

Map editors we'll have to figure out together...
edit: got the map editor to work (though not the ones on the .ru site)

if we want to host this linux-compatable map editor on the site i can compress the application and required files...
