Title: Cheat Codes For MultiPlayer?

Done everything works all single player cheats work online no drop nothing. Right now its currently a hack so it can't be released i plan to make it so the host would only be able to turn them on.

Good TIPS:

1. When a cheat is enabled everyone is notified.
2. Any cheat activated effects all players.

I can make them safe for the community. So they cannot be used to hack. Unless you are aware i can make it so only the game host can do it. we can make a god type map know just give everyone peon and host control the games resources live...

Sounds stupid.  What a waste of valuable time.  You should be working in the other direction,  away from anything that even closely resembles a hack not the other way around.  Cheat codes are for single player.  Period.  If you want to cheat with your wife (or on your wife),  do it via IPX.

I'm not even home yet so I'm not hacking.

No there is plunty of good to come from this plus this would not be a hack because everything used is detected. I'm going to add the feature when you can only enable/disable before or after game. I stand with confidence in my projects and always will.

The best potential Cheat Code mod would be one that only works if all players involved have it on.

What you're talking about, with the host having the power to use it, would only even possibly be OK if somehow the game was marked as a cheats enabled game, so everyone joining would know in advance.  Like maybe the program only can run if you put "CHEATS ENABLED" in the game name or something.

If you released a project that allowed someone to secretly host games where cheats would be allowed, the #1 user would be dellam, and I would ask iL to ban you.  Not saying you would release a program against our wishes like that but just saying it wouldn't be allowed, and use of it would be bannable if it was something where people joining the game didn't know you had cheats on and then as you start dying you type glittering prizes make it so etc etc and quick start rebuilding...

Yes I know the rules blid. I explained millions of times any cheat entered everybody gets the effect and they are told in game the second it happens exact like IPX mode like blizzard made it for MULTIPLAYER!

There are very many ways I can make this secure many ways we can go about that. I offered my time and knowledge I see it is not wanted so I'll do you all a favor I'll disappear. Here all my ideas are stupid and garbage thanks. Good luck war2 I'll miss you.

I am not telling you to go away, just saying if one player is able to surprise others when he types "glittering prizes" then the tool could be abused.  It doesn't really matter if everyone gets the effect - the key is people joining the game have to be agreeing to have a game where cheats can be used, not be tricked into it.  That's all.  Like I said, I'm not saying you would do something that broke the rules, this is just a risky project and I wanted to make sure if you do it, it's handled in a safe way

I know i keep iL updated with all the information so even if i went evil he can patch it over night. I'm not about that, i love to hack shit don't get me wrong but i don't like an advantage i like all players to have it.

This tool is more safe then joining any custom map like wtf it might even safe your ass if the resources are rigged you can glittering prizes, what if he had GOD units you can enable god mode LOL! I can be invisible forever, shoot flames out my peons ass, etc with a custom map........

Well RIGHT NOW I GOT CHEATS ENABLED other wise bad. When i'm done with my ideas i should have a secure way to deploy this feature.

That could be implemented and i'd feel it fair with 2 conditions:
1. To allow/deny cheats before starting the game. Also need some obvious way to let every player know if cheats could be enabled in the game they are going to play. Checkbox in game lobby (as in IPX) would be perfect.
2. To prevent stealing an opportunity to switch that cheats on/off. If hacker get that code, he could be able to enable cheats in any game without "cheat-enable checkbox" (yes, other players will also get cheats enabled, but that's not acceptable if checkbox have not been set).

Also, i'm not sure if somebody in the commuinty is really interested to play with cheats enabled. So, not sure such research will be useful for any purposes except game-development...

Well now with that beta server up you can do it with anti cheat system?

/enable cheats

then sends a signal to activate the cheat codes from the players anti hack running and also flag as Cheat Code Game to avoid false positives.
Then display a message to people who join or maybe force the game name to start with CE:

Game name is not so obvious for everyone to feel that perfect solution. Checkbox would be much better. Just not sure how to make that checkbox or w/e...

Interesting if anybody ever used that "cheat enable" checkbox in kali time when IPX have been used. Wonder if anybody did actively...

Also that will not help them to flow into existing community.
So, i think it's just a toy most likely.

For example: how many people ever used "first TH" option in war2ppatcher? Option to start game from not TH, maybe a first BB or w/e, "as in old version of war2". I think nobody. Yet another useless toy...

It's actually very fun! I played with handfulls of people last night and they where liking the idea and game play.

I was randomly giving them gold, vision, upgrades, map for a time limit and i watched the games. They have tons of fun and thats what i want to see...

Well you can ban them for having the cheats on themselfs and note dont join a game that says CHEATS ENABLED....... There was too much fun involved to let this go to waste. I will post ss's when im home.

Well enough of wanted you banned / you will be banned. I know the rules

I am well above most admins here. I spend alot of time developing and researching for free I never asked for anything in return. I've had bad experiences with abusive admins before when I called out that person and started talking i was called a hacker.... I didn't know about forums or iL at the time. All I knew was I could not login to server because I beat a player in free castles. I was told to stop making knights or I would be banned. I said what ever kept playing he left and I was disconnected after my victory screen with a ban. I have proven to be a one man army before. Buts let's try to keep that in the past.

If enabling cheat codes in a game is a flag to you then you should just quit war2 and never play custom maps.

Yeah we should just do it on your end.
1. No extra exe
2. Flag cheat game for antihack no false positives
3. Detect with antihack so hacker can't use it if they reversed it out of the program..

Yeah let's ban the guy that told iL and sent vulnerability info to prove Lance had full control and our server is compromised...

Let's ban tupac he got archer doxed who hacked our backup and let some main accounts compromised.... yep Lance had fun with him. I should of fucking swatted the dumb newb.

It is amusing, but I view this to be to dangerous.  Someone is going to find a way to abuse it.  Its just not something that we should be putting work into.  This would be the equivalent of tossing an ozzie in the center of a group of criminals and wondering whos going to kill someone or rob someone first even though the rules are "you can only shoot the can".  It's just to uncomfortable, I do not believe this could be successfully secured.  It's not really cool that you can join a game as of right now, and enable cheats.  I get that it tells everyone,  but you can also make a version that tells NO one and selectively pick who it effects.  Who's to say you havent done so already?  Thus making it possible to not only give the people you are watching hints and shit, but now you could give them gold too?  .... no thanks.  I'd rather put work into stopping cheats.  Not enabling them, no matter how amusing they are.  If you REALLY want to use them, use IPX or single player.  Both of those modes work perfectly as is and IPX allows multiplayer and already has the cheat enabled checkbox.

Found some buttons that where invisible. They are for using Enter Notifications, Input name, you know ALT V, ALT N Select name.


I was able to open the game creation screen and enter a checkbox. When i save those it corrupts the file in the mpq. Also i could change the group it is in to the one for Cheat codes.... well need some more time.

Also

the cheats i found hidden and not mention before.

netprof: shows network performance??? I dont see it maybe just in ipx?
showmemory: maybe show memory usage????
showinfo: display some type of info?

when i enter those i see no effects besides on or off.

It is amusing, but I view this to be to dangerous.  Someone is going to find a way to abuse it.
It's just to uncomfortable, I do not believe this could be successfully secured.
It's not really cool that you can join a game as of right now, and enable cheats.

Even if to implement it into my loader, I do not believe this could be successfully secured.
Of course i can add a flag to game to make sure the game have been created with antihack and then warn for cheats enabled for other games, but all these checks and flags for antihack is technically not so easy solution. Remember that currently antihack doesn't check hacks properly. At least i have to fix the hack controlling mechanizm for existing hacks first of all...
Also, we currently have no a checkbox in game lobby to enable/disable hacks and no easy ideas how to add that. "CE" suffix/prefix will not be obvious for many people who don't know about our ideas, so i'd say that is not a proper solution.
Maybe to add that checkbox into loader interface and it will autoadd highlighted "CE:" or "Cheat Enabled" to the name of a game, but need some research also.

So, i think it's possible to implement it to loader if that's really needed, but not a high-priority task...

Found some buttons that where invisible. They are for using Enter Notifications, Input name, you know ALT V, ALT N Select name.

How did you get this picture? Edited dialog inside mpq to change z-order for these 2 buttons?

I already can add the button just need to figure out how to save it properly so i dont get mpq error. I might be able to do it with just the MPQ.

Also for those buttons those are the original positions they are in they are normally invisible. I found them when i was looking at war2 window's information.

Same way i just discovered you have a GUI to the war2 loader the menu is in russian that translates to exit and program with a input box. I wonder what you use that for :) also a little display box in English of author and version.

Well most of that is in the MPQ. I can add line and find the parameters they used for On or Off So i can add Cheats: On below map size or something... But we would need to update the mpq. I see nothing wrong with that.

Then we should check if that mpq is fixed for any client trying to join the game and deny joining for clients with non-fixed mpq.
Otherwise someone install clean licensed war2 (or combat with no fixed or custom mpq), joins the game and never see that is cheat-allowed game.

We can just do one massive upgrade client wise. When it's time to enforce the anti cheat because we will have to lock client down then.

I actually have no plans to lock client down. My loader is compatible with full version, so it would be enough to use it anyway.
Especially i have no plans to lock down mpq-files for war2...

What's that? If that's related to mpq, I think that could be selectabe during installation (if really required).
Cheats
As i see that, it should be compatible with any client with any mpq that could join the server to let everybody see that the game is cheat-allowed. On/off checkbox can require some additional methods (like my or some custom loader). Also illegal cheat-allowing should be denied (by antihack).
Here are at least 2 problems i have no idea what to do with...

Okay another idea.

When i was messing with the ucla commad and the string it returns I noticed we can use parameters like %u, %0, I keep find new one what if I changed the .tbl file for player has joined game then add Cheats : %u
So when some on join they are prompted with cheat status enable and disabled?

When I get off work I will look for the parameter for cheats enabled and disabled and test that idea.

Now I'm home I can resume my progress. Well no matter what we need to add this to the anti hack to be detected so abuse I'm not worried about. This would be the worst hack ever on bnet.

I'll be back in a bit with my update on "tupac has joined game: cheats enabled." I'm hoping those strings weren't just for ipx.

This works once again the MPQ editor was corrupting it!!!

So now we can add different game types and settings! You can modify the templates in the MPQ.... have fun guys! You can add buttons, change the listboxes, etc.
