I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone.

Just saying what he is trying to do.

I dont have a lot of time to play war2, but when I do its mainly on GoG with Cel.  He streams on the weekends.   https://www.twitch.tv/trogallart   -- click on schedule for times.  We meet in Op Trogallart channel.

RU vs GoG -- RU is a 1000% better.

Its almost impossible to grab peons / the game isnt stop and go meaning it feels smooth until you try and pull peons / micro etc.

GoG for whatever reason puts each player in a random channel

No Support from GoG / Blizzard

I enjoy the games on there when I do have a chance to play.  Cel is working hard, trying to build a community for the game; his mindset is that if enough people are playing war2 "Legitimately" perhaps Blizzard / GoG etc might put some effort into this game.  Kudos to him he actually has recruited 6-7 new players.

Me personally I think its a lost cause and would prefer he played on RU since it runs better =P

Tora if you are trying to use war2combat to login to GoG it doesnt work unless you do alot of nerd stuff I dont understand.   I just bought the game for $10.00 and played it =P

Open program...save template and you should be good to go.

No it isnt.  I just changed the hotkey to make a peon from "p" to "e".  I am pressing the P key and it types P... Same for E..press E and it types E. I wouldnt mess with it if it changed my windows key settings considering I play 20 games a year.

Its only changing in game hotkeys

Did you try it?  It worked for me

Ragner literally uploaded a file that allows you to change hot keys for the game.  It’s not like using an aftermarket keyboard or mouse where it changes  when war2 isn’t running.  Guessing it changes the mpq file or whatever all the craziness is about.

It’s on the forum somewhere.  It’s real simple include that program with the game download.  Then everyone can change key bindings.

To me that’s a great add on to include with the download because the in game hot keys are dated

I ve played about 100 games since the 90s on RU.  Honestly the players on here are just too good for new people and unfortunately not very welcoming.

I get it people don’t have unlimited time to play and having a new player on your team pretty much ensures you are going to lose.

It’s almost like you need a surge of new players who can have their own channel and play against each other.  The skill gap Is high on here.  I know the basics and understand the game pretty well and even I find it hard to play on RU.

Also since you are making updates to the game I have a suggestion  ( might not be possible) is to change the mini map in game.  The complete black fog of war makes it tough for new players.  Also I think having something similar to Starcraft 2’s mini map would encourage more map variety instead of just GOW.   Make it so you can see the map from the start of the game perhaps a lighter shade of grey and once explored it lightens up even more.

Figured I would share my opinion since I am probably the type of person this post is about.
