Title: [done] Optical mouse surface?

Was using a touchpad and got an optical mouse and after going through 3 mousepads i just used the top of a book. what kind of surface does an optical mouse use?

i just use my desk,but most fps gamers have big mouse pads. its up to you what makes you comfortable.

does it need to be super flat? mine has ridges

Most gamers and alike use cloth pads and they are cheap. Much better surface than wood imho.

$1 mousepad, it works on my wood table which has some grooves, mousepad is more to spare the table
