I will come back if the average players on gets to around 150, although this seems like its not going to happen.

I think it can happen. The website is getting plenty of traffic already, and I have some ideas to further improve it so more visitors end up taking the desired action (downloading the client & playing). If we can coordinate efforts better when it comes to running Facebook ads, spreading YouTube vids around, streaming, etc. then I think we can definitely get there.

The key is getting enough people playing regularly so that new users we bring in will log on and always have people to game with. Once there's that expectation that you can log onto WC2 and easily get a game, people will be more inclined to continuing logging on and playing regularly, which boosts the total population and makes it even easier for future new players. Just have to get to that tipping point.

Glad I stopped playing this stupid game years ago, have fun playing with the 20 players. I on the other hand will keep playing LoL and spend my time on the lol reddit instead of this retard forum with full of nothing but losers. I don't think SMF distinguishes between "ability to delete own thread" and "ability to delete own empty thread", does it? Either you can delete threads (and all their contents) or you can't.

I do think the new forums are an improvement in that there's no longer a mandatory three month waiting period for account activation, and the software isn't ten years out of date, and we have great new features like marquees.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but deleting one's own account on a forum is not standard functionality. Even if you can technically delete the account, your posts would remain (otherwise you disrupt the logical flow of every thread you ever posted it), meaning your name & content is still going to be out there, so what's the point? Giving every user the right to turn the forum into swiss cheese every time they get huffy and want to make a dramatic exit is just bad policy.

You may be right Win, I didn't see the porn situation while it was going down, but after the fact it looked like EQ posted it, blid warned him, which seemed like the right call, but then everyone gave him shit about, etc. etc. So I don't know. Frankly all this he-said-she-said is getting exhausting; warnings expire after 24 hours, so I think it's safe to say we're all wasting waaaay too much energy palavering about technicalities.
