Both of them can be considere as a hack and both of them can be considere as legit.
It's not what is it that make it a hack but how you acces to it.
If it came with the original version its not a hack.
If you have to download it outside the game or the community its an hack.
Even the map editor is a hack since you can see what map your playing and your ennemies maybe cant.
But since we let it in open download of the original website of war2ru combat and you got the right to choose it in the installation, it's not a hack anymore.

Did you know that the original war2 put out by Blizzard also had the map editor? The editor that comes with Combat is THE editor that came with the original war2 game by blizzard. Are you sure you're talking about the map EDITOR and not a map HACK? Besides, why is a map editor a hack in the first place? It's not something you use during a game anyway.

Ooooo hhaha yes. I have done that before too. But it wasnt with a monitor. I use to literally PRINT the maps and had them all on my desk. I totally forgot about that until you just mentioned it LMFAO. I havent had a printed map in over 20yrs! Wow that brings back memories hahaha.

Like i said the map itself itself it's a kind of hack, but since everyone is allow to have it from the installation it's not anymore.

It will not be a hack if you will be able to customize it from the game itself or if an add on will be able to download on the war2ru website.
Thats why every games of 2019 allow you to customize your own hotkey since some peoples who have no money to buy some high price keyboard are totally desadvantage by that.
Money is not representative of skills… Anything that can make you better by paying while poor peoples cant is a hack.

EQ have you ever seen me play? I dont even use hotkeys. On purpose. I play for leisure now, I no longer bother using hotkeys. When you play against me, you're literally playing someone who plays with ONE hand. So I suggest you dont ever lose or have a hard time beating me, cuz that would be REALLY embarrassing for you. Just watch my twitch streams, I literally use ONE hand to play war2 now.
But if you REALLY want to change your hotkeys, I told you how to do that in the other thread with AutoHotkey app. It's 100% free and everyone can use it.

The entire community? You mean the entire community of geek, thos guys are all programmar and clearly abuse of ther knowledge in programmation to get better over non programmer player. And peoples who cant programm will wish to have money to get on ther level and will buy super key board if they can.
The day we gonna have customize hotkey in the game itself it will not be hack anymore, for now its totally a real hack and i dont cares what people said, the entire community is wrong if needed.

Heh EQ u crack me up. It's like you think everyone plays competitively today or something. I'd say maybe 5% of the people playing today actually play to be competitive. Thats far different than what it was like when Kahn/Kali/Zone were the talk of the day and literally every person was playing competitively. Today, I play war2 mostly to have fun and relax. I play with 1 hand, leaning back in my chair with a beer in the other hand. I have a feeling PB plays the same way and I KNOW PBR plays that way too lol. But that doesnt mean we CANT play competitively, we just choose not to, win or lose. If I really had the motivation to do so, I can and would utilize every hotkey and every unit for the correct situation. I know when and how to do so, I just choose not to because I'm just lazy like that.

Yes I know, I use SUCH a high end keyboard! I mean, look at this beast! It's got to be like the most MODERN configurable keyboard ON THE PLANET!
PS: In case you didnt pick up on the sarcasm, I havent changed keyboards since literally 1998. No joke. I use a PS/2 to USB adapter just to use it lol. It'll be a sad day when this keyboard dies.

You talk about a game in 32 bit created in 1995, time have change and every game allow you to customize your hotkeys because they dont want to alterate the real skills player for money.
Do you understand that part where money dont do skills?
If someone have money to buy a keyboard wich allow you to get better then the game itself allow you to be and someone dont have that money, then it's a big probleme for the true skillz rating.
I have no probleme with the fact that peoples can switch hotkeys for what they want untill everyone can do it by the game itself.
I got a probleme with the fact that some people can afford those privilege and some other else cant.

I think they're pretty equivalent in that they're both potentially giving the player an unfair advantage. One is an actual hack and the other is a hardware modification.
I'm curious what constitutes a macro hack? Double click for example gives a very clear advantage. Using 1 button to perform 2 actions... most seem ok with that. Are they ok with designating the #1 key (ctrl+ 1 + O).. so if you were to hotkey your barracks 1,2,3,4 you would just have to type those numbers and an ogre would auto create?

Why is it so big a deal with chop bars. It won't win player's game because he sent peon to gold who started chopping tree first. At chop farms it's pretty useless because good players have their building order and it won't help new player to make better build placement.

It could definitely win/lose games in some situations.. low resources it would have a very real purpose. Chop farms.. or maybe a game where 2 players played for an extremely long time.. killed most of each other's units/buildings and each player is left with very minimal resources and units.
There have been plenty of games I know I've lost simply because other was using double click. The game was so close, but that 1 less action they had to perform that takes a fraction of a second to complete gave them the winning edge.
