it has to not look like spam, like "download free warcraft 2" it will get deleted.

It looked like "last active war2 server in the world" or "currently active war2 server". It was truth, but they deleted that link...
I'm not experienced in wiki editing, so i have no idea how to do that properly, but i agree such link would be great.

Links from Wikipedia are rel="nofollow" and doesnt affect the rank

I'd say even a link with "nofollow" could be useful for people who read wikipedia and follow the links from there.

Another problem we got several years ago with russian part and russian wiki:
Russians tried to add the link to war2.ru, but wiki's moderators removed that link quickly. No idea how to add that link to wiki to keep it permanently.

Nothing is preventing us. IL is the only one with direct access and he is busy. Don't worry one day he will do it. Just wait....

Direct access is not the main problem in that question.

I don't pay much attention to icons, i have no much time for that, but that problem is resolvable easily.
If someone (admin?) give me icons.bni file to replace, i'll upload it as soon as i get it.
If someone (admin?) ask me about an access to bnet directory, i'll try to do something.

Yes, i have no time to work on icons, but don't think i'm the one who slow that down. I'm ready to assist an icons job when anyone else will do another part of that job.

i know this been said a million times i have searcehed my whole comp have no idea where it is. nvm somehow it has showed up in the folder.

Here: http://en.war2.ru/support/ -> screenshots -> If you already saved a screenshot with UAC Enabled…

Navigate to your User folder at C:\Users\YourName
If hidden files are not visible, follow this short tutorial to show them
Navigate to the folder AppData > Local > VirtualStore > Program Files > War2combat
Your screenshot(s) should be saved in this directory. (They will have a .pcx extension)

Also ss from chat asks you about the location and name (documents by default).
Also ss from game should be saved in game folder by default.

Making a "last polls" block somewhere would be nice if it's possible.

Not sure if it's easy or not. But i hope it should be possible...

How do you feel about guidelines for community polling?

No idea what to write in that guidelines.
Just click "New poll" and fill the required fields you want to feel.
All the options are free to use and they are self-documented. I don't see a reason to limit anything.

My general thoughts about guidelines that we should try to make our stuff self-documented, because people don't like and shouldn't read any guidelines.

I still think we could still use a little structure with polling guidelines since we've embraced the idea of community voting though. 

I agree about some kind of structure, maybe we can try to make some kind of "last polls" block somewhere?
I also not sure if we should include all the polls there or to exclude some jokey or useless polls...

Anyway, we care of such polls and let anyone to make their polls and attract people anywhere they want.

Let me publish my utility written for combat 401 specially.
It's called cmdmpq and it's an alternative to winmpq.

Yes, winmpq supports command line, but it's command line is pretty ugly. Doesn't support spaces or special symbols in file and dir names.
And it also requires many separate dlls to work properly and i had troubles with winmpq on some OS versions.

So i rewrote it for command line-only (only adding files to archive) using opensource SFmpq library.
I use it in combat 4.01 installer to build custom war2patch.mpq based on different installer checkboxes.

Let me attach it here for everyone who want to use it.

This seems to me to be a missing rule, like how linking to hacks isnt against the rules.

I also asked about to prohibit that by Rules, people answered they don't care and they are happy to just stop play with BS'ers.
That's why it's olny in etiquette part, not Rules.
Maybe to make a poll about that?

When your poll is about the game, you post in server.war2.ru section,
When your poll is about the forum, your post in forum affairs section, etc.

I think we should let each poll to be located in any of existing boards it's related to...

I'd say we have the whole section: "Support requests" for that. I'd prefer section instead of thread because it's easy to discuss all the moments about each thing or to mark it closed when finished.
