Title: Mike O'Brien
Post by: Lambchops on March 31, 2018, 02:01:47 AM
Just noticed that in addition to designing the MOPAQ (mpq) format and tools, Mike is also the sole original author of the storm library (storm.dll). How did I never notice that before? The guy's a freakin legend.  :-*

...also
ever wonder why the enter/leave notification hotkey is ALT-V ?

Here's the original channel dialog box prototype, it's still embedded in the files (in 6 languages!).

My guess it was the hotkey for the "verbose" button there.

mmm... software archaeology ... so nerdy  :D

Was this a sc1 cursor maybe? I don't remember it from wc2 anywhere.

They are actually over battle.net you can use cheat engine to make them buttons visible. There's is alot more sc1 icons in the mpq. I saw this stuff years ago.

Interesting. These are all from dll resource sections. The channel dialog there doesn't have the LADDER buton, they must have updated it from this one. I think the sc cursor was from w2local.dll or something.
