All set. I tried to follow the steps in the forum link u sent. Not sure if I followed their steps correctly but what worked for me is going to properties on the war2 launch icon and there is a compatibility tab. Then I ran the compatibility troubleshooter and it fixed the problem. Thanks bro!

Oh make sure your virus scanner is not removing the file or blocking it somehow.


Tried with and without color fix and didn't work. I have Windows 8. I don't have any active virus scanner or firewall enabled. The direct draw error message states that I was unable to switch video modes. "The error encountered while trying to switch video modes was: Not implemented, vidinimo_PC.cpp line 158, and SetDisplayMode"

I actually was away from the war2 forums for some years. Came back I guess around a year ago on occult. You could say the same thing about fukboi aka ghostnuke who hasn't played a war2 game since 2000 yet here he is. I have a narcissistic personality disorder so I need to continue posting here to keep my legacy alive and so that all the new players know how good I once was.

Also GanzTheLegend how are you still active on the forums after all these years? You haven't played in over 10 years but you continue to post on a war2 forum??? Even on zone you barely played and just hacked IGL ladders to rank up.

Had no idea. Anyways I hope to get online to play again soon. Having tech problems. Had to reinstall and now getting a "direct draw error" when I try to open war2. Posted in support forum now we wait. How's everyone doing?

Haven't played in a while and getting withdrawals. I had to reinstall war2 and now when I try to launch it says "direct draw error". Wtf do I do. I'm not a computer whiz so plz explain in idiot language what I need to do. I'm not ready to retire yet.
