1) i think ive heard of it being done before ... but right now the two of them are having insane lag trying.
does anyone know the solution?
2) if thats not possible or whatever .. isnt it possible to play LAN (im not sure if thats the same as direct connect.. i think so)
cant they just link computers together with ethernet cable or whatever and play eachother using direct connect?
if anyone has any knowledge about this it will be greatly appreciated.

Or am i misunderstood question?
2. they can setup their own pvpgn server maybe, add new gateway like 192.168.0.1 or w/e host ip do they have and enjoy...

does that allow both brothers to play war2 in the same game if they are both using the same internet connection?

Yes, that should work, let them try that.

Way I have done it in the past is to port both computers through the same routher. One using ports 6112-6119 and other using 6111-6120. Allows each other to host and join each others games without lag. Worked for me and friend. Gamed without lag.
