Currently getting a application crash when starting war2combat.
It gets to the screen with the Orc and Human on it and then crashes back to desktop.
I have uninstalled/ re-installed, with a fresh downloaded file as well.
My graphics drivers are up to date, could this be possibly caused by needing a Windows update?
I have attached a screen shot of the error in addition to error log file.

Hm, windows?.. 8? 10? x86, x64?
Try to check DEP - war2 should be in dep exclusions.
Try to run as administrator.
Try to delete the file ddraw.dll from war2 folder if exist.
Which graphics card/driver version you have? Maybe would be possible to reproduce your problem on my side, but looks like not ordinary problem.

Yes I notice you are using window mode for war2. Does it crash without window mode? If not check the Config file for Windows mode and tell me your settings or use the default 1.

Sorry, completely forgot the OS. Win 7 Pro SP1 64bit
Game crash occurred before attempting Windowed mode. I was testing to see if that would possibly fix.
I've tested multiple resolutions as well.
Graphics card is Nvidia GTX 660m with newest drivers installed.
I will try to run as admin and the other suggestions posted above and give feedback.

Have you tried the dep settings like recommend above?

***Problem Resolved***
I deleted the ddraw.dll from the folder WC2 was installed in.
Turned on DEP which populated the game into the listed programs field and was able to successfully launch.
The startup screen was slightly off coloured however that is not a major issue.
**Steps taken to add war2combat to DEP exceptions list**
Start Menu > Right Click on Computer and select Properties > Advanced Systems Settings > Advanced TAB >
Under Performance, click Settings > Data Execution Prevention TAB > Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services Listed
War2Combat should be populated in that list, if not select Add and locate the file.
Note: I also ran the software as admin (right click > run as administrator)
Hope this helps anyone who gets this problem.

Exactly this has fixed many windows 7 crashed good job!

Hm, i still didn't understand what exactly helped you to resolve.
- DEP exclusion required, but it should be added on installation automatically.
- ddraw can cause troubles, but it's required to help with palette troubles. It's window mode should be also stable.
- run as administrator helps sometimes, but should not be mandatory.
War2 should usually work quite stable on win7 with default configuration without any steps listed above.
Appreciate if you find what exactly helped you to resolve.
