is this possible? I thought others have done it before? did it involve a virtual machine?
if anyone knows, and can include some information as to how to do it with some links/steps so others reading this can get some guidance i'd appreciate it.
thanks.

This is the program I have used in the past.
I managed to get it to work enough to where you can log onto b.net and chat but gaming was difficult.
For some reason when you gamed it was very laggy and could hardly play.
Your mouse had a like a 7 second delay....after i messed with a few things here and there but was never able to fix it so i just stopped there and upgraded to windows. :P

i use oracle vm but may not be the best.
works good but youll need a program to get you to the 640 reso for full screen.

WINE allows you to go full screen without no problems and actually with no color glitches...just game speed is screwed up for some reason.

yeah forgot about wine. i never could get it to work right in the fedora linux.

You should be able to play on a Mac with an original CD or a torrent download of the original Battle.net edition. I think I tried War2Combat on my Hackintosh at one point but it didn't work. However, I have had luck with Linux (Debian) and Wine but there were a few minor problems. The chat screen is mostly black and I was unable to change a few settings when trying to create a game. All messages and usernames in chat are clearly visible though. I was able to join games and everything seems to look and work fine outside of the bnet interface. Your best bet is to try Wine on the Mac. You may have different results but it's worth a try. A VM isn't a bad idea either.

Natively you cant run war2 on a Mac....Apple dropped support for PowerPC products years ago. Even recently updated starcraft doesn't run anymore. You need a windows emulator like WINE or VM.
EDIT: Easier to just upgrade to windows or bootcamp windows on mac lol.

Well, did anybody reach the success with war2 on MAC?
Or any problems with it?
Would be great to have guide "War2 over MAC" as we have for linux: http://en.war2.ru/tutorials/setting-up-linux-ubuntu-to-play-warcraft-ii-bne/ (http://en.war2.ru/tutorials/setting-up-linux-ubuntu-to-play-warcraft-ii-bne/)
I have no MAC, but someone should have and try.
Important question, as sometimes people appear with their mac-computers and questions how to start war2 on it.
