Joel Embiid told reporters that Andre Drummond "doesn't play any defense" following the Sixers victory over the Pistons on Monday night.

Embiid scored 30 points (on 11-of-15 shooting) and grabbed nine rebounds in 28 minutes. Afterward, he called out Drummond directly. "Defensively, he doesn’t play any defense," said Embiid. "When we started the game, he was being aggressive and he was talking, too. … So what I was like [in my mind] ‘You want to do that? I’m going to kick your [butt] then. So that’s what I did." After getting into it with Hassan Whiteside earlier this month, Embiid has made it clear he is not afraid of mixing it up with opposing centers.

Ball doesn't make sense for your team, you basically got a punt assist team going on with Smart and George Hill and another rookie that doesn't get a whole lot of assists as your PGs.

It's not a punt assist team because of the aforementioned Ball (double digit assist guy), Durant 5apg, and, you guesed it, BLAKE GRIFFIN

I still need to add a PG to my team, but i believed in markkanen.  so it was a bad trade in terms of positional availability but good to get me a guy i thought might be a stud.  no disrespect to fox though

Wait why would you even offer that, the reject button is gonna get hit so fast.

because he has Drummond and Gortat, both poor free throw shooters... Porzingis is kept one last season, DeAndre can be kept for 3.

am i the only one who knows how to play this fantasy stuff?!?
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on October 25, 2017, 11:16:28 AM
Porzingis is elite. DeAndre tanks your FT%

He still is likely operating under the illusion that Drummond is good at FT shooting now.  He's obviously not and maybe he'll reconsider when Drummond starts missing 75% of them.  at that point he may just want to drop Drummond though.  Gortat's ft shooting isn't a big deal, he doesn't get fouled much

I know Porzingis cant be kept again but you do raise a good point about DeAndre as a potential keeper.  i would hate to have him on my team but he did go hilariously late in the draft..
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on October 25, 2017, 11:25:15 AM
lmao i'll pick drummond up and go full punt ft if he drops him...

but i did notice an issue, all three guys (DeAndre, Gorat, Drummond) are C only eligible. which means you couldn't play all three at the same time.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on October 25, 2017, 11:36:31 AM
Oh i mean he'd try to move Drummond probably, not just drop him.  but what does gortat have to do with it, he's not usually lumped in with the bad FT shooters, who are:

Drummond, DeAndre, Dwight.  and then you have the secondary bad ft guys like LeBron, Gobert, Whiteside.  last year gortat wasnt even in the top 25 of guys to negatively impact your ft %
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on October 25, 2017, 11:42:01 AM
Gortat is trash at free throws, even if he isn't the worst of the worse he does have a negative impact.

Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on October 27, 2017, 11:59:16 AM
you suck shit at turnovers anyways, he'll give you the assists you need, don't lose any rebounding because westbrook is actually averaging more boards than durant right now, you'll lose blocks, gain steals... your pg is easily your weakest position so yea, that work. you still have middleton and tj warren as small forwards, but only 2.. you'll probably have to trade one of your bigs for an elite SF like Rondae.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on October 27, 2017, 12:07:16 PM
Yeah i was thinking it would really free me up to suck at TO and FG% (Booker and Ball would no longer be bad fits), and help fill my PG hole.  Ball and Westbrook both (plus a guy like Blake) would make me rule at assists.

Theyd throw in a SF like aminu and id throw in a PG like dinwiddie or whatever (crap).

the downside is that my team still wont be perfectly balanced, i had that freakin scrub donovan mitchell jacking up bad shots this week and lonzo ball and im still ahead in fg% - guys like Blake, Kanter, Myles Turner are good FG% guys.

The alternative to this trade would be dealing Ball for another high assist PG and then weathering booker and rarely using Smart.

Had Simmons and Oubre both on my watch list but neither seemed very good. Simmons doesn't provide much out of some 3s and points. Oubre doesn't seem to be involved much, he'll get like 40 minutes and finish with 6 pts. Oubre only seems worth a pick up if Porter or Beal get hurt.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on October 31, 2017, 11:21:47 AM
oubre is a young buck, still only 21yo, starting to emerge a bit and i think he has talent.  steals and 3s have been there.  but markieff coming back will cut into his time i bet.

youre right about simmons except that hes still pretty good despite that.  17/3.5/2 with good % is worth owning even if he isnt lighting the world on fire

Well, before i had Embiid/Blake/Turner PLUS Kanter and Markkanen.  So like 5 guys i wanted to start in those two positions + util sometimes

Now I just have Embiid/Blake/Turner... Kuzma as well can play PF, but he's SF eligible too, so there's no crunch at center anymore.  In fact 3 good guys is what you want so you can staff both PF/C with good players most nights.  I might still be willing to do that trade if Jonas was playing better but he seems to have become a 20mpg bum... with zero blocks
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on November 15, 2017, 04:55:39 PM
yea he has 2 blocks all season. retard casey isn't helping with this 3 center rotation of jonas/bebe/poeltl.
especially stupid since poeltl is clearly better than bebe, bebe probably shouldn't even be playing at all.
and if that retard benches OG when powell comes back he needs to be fired so quick.

seems good.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on November 16, 2017, 10:28:12 AM
that's good.  i think SF means it's really good because he has an A+ grade without being a pure big.  grade is based on salary and bigs have higher salary so it's easier for a shitty big to get an A+.  but an A+ SF should be very good, plus 18 years old.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on November 16, 2017, 10:30:58 AM
I'm only doing 1 scouting point per week, so I decided to just spend it by scouting and interviewing random guys.  Had 7 scouting points, so I fully scouted two players and both are A+ but both are 19-years-old.  One of them is 5 star potential SF, 6'3".  Means he has some decent baseline big skills but still is short and can round out into a stud with guard skills.  Too bad I can't really train guards right now.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on November 16, 2017, 10:46:37 AM
3 balls per week seems to be the best deal , it's 20k less a week than 4 balls per week...
but i've been doing 4 all season.

the sf i found is pretty much the perfect player im looking for, because i'm looking to train well-rounded types and it sounds like he'll already have a well-rounded base. on top of that he's 18 and potential hofer.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on November 16, 2017, 10:48:49 AM
I might have a chance to get him in the draft even though my team is good now.  My reasoning is:
He's not a 1 or 2 ball prospect, so he won't be uncovered by anyone doing the group demonstration
I scouted Players 13 and 17, so they won't be autodrafted.  That's why I aimed for those random guys
Unintentional, but since they're 19, they probably won't be targeted as much by people who did the scouting combine.

Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on November 21, 2017, 05:53:54 PM
No, I don't think it's Jaylen/Tatum. The team's MVP is Brad Stephens and his system. Most important guy on the floor is Horford, followed by Smart and Kyrie. When you first offered Kyrie for Porzingis I thought it was a bad deal for him but now I think it's good, except I bet it means he'd be forfeiting blocks.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on November 21, 2017, 06:03:32 PM
No. Irving is clearly the most important guy on the court for the Celtics and it's not close. You can make that argument that they beat the Raptors without Irving but that was more of a fluke than anything. Raptors made sloppy passes all game and had 7 turnovers in the first quarter alone. Celtics attempted 20 more shots and still only won the game by 1 point. The point is that Celtics in a series wouldn't beat the Raptors without Irving. Celtics in a series without Irving probably wouldn't beat any playoff team.

what are you talking about? if a guy coming off a 18.8 ppg season and 6th round finish went undrafted in your league, that's a problem with your league. he wouldn't have been on the waiver in  most leagues. Mitchell was like 10% owned at one point.

I didn't set my lineup for g1 of the finals and the coach sent everyone out at the wrong positions. That's fine because I wasn't going to win anyway but I would have done Playoff Normal to try to steal game 2. But maybe he'll throw g2 so we can make more money

In his year at college, before pausing his degree to play in the NBA, Brown wrote a thesis about how institutionalised sport impacts on education. “I was super emotional reading about it,” he says of his chosen subject. “There’s this idea of America that some people have to win and some have to lose so certain things are in place to make this happen. Some people have to be the next legislators and political elites and some have to fill the prisons and work in McDonald’s. That’s how America works. It’s a machine which needs people up top, and people down low.

“Even though I’ve ended up in a great place, who is to say where I would’ve been without basketball? It makes me feel for my friends. And my little brothers or cousins have no idea how their social mobility is being shaped. I wish more and more that I can explain it to them. Just because I’m the outlier in my neighbourhood who managed to avoid the barriers set up to keep the privileged in privilege, and the poor still poor, why should I forget about the people who didn’t have the same chance as me?”

Hmm Jaylen Brown owns.

It appears Yahoo is fucking up on the position eligibilty. Bogdon had been playing SF for most of Nov/Dec and now has been playing PG, yet he has only SG eligibility. Also Prince has been playing PF yet only has SF eligbility.

How the fuck do you do a Middleton for Curry trade straight up? that shit gets vetoed in every good league. What's even more ridiculous is that I offered Donovan Mitchell (much better player) and he didn't answer.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on January 16, 2018, 01:36:07 PM
Curry can't be kept and Middleton as a 9th rounder is a strong keeper.  The other team is cashing out on this season and rebuilding for next, so you can't judge the trade from a traditional straight up standpoint.

It's possible he never saw your Mitchell offer but he made a few posts on the league page saying he wanted more/better offers for Curry and I guess he didn't get anything better.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018

Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on January 17, 2018, 11:44:43 AM
it's especially questionable considering he just recently has been cleared to play road games now after his legal troubles.

i didn't like owning wes matthews one bit, gave me a headache with his inconsistency. his 3s and low turnovers where he holds all his value. giving you 10th round value so still rosterable. maybe i'd hold on to him if i didn't have other dumbasses like tauren prince putting up wildly inconsistent numbers. i can only have so many inconsistent dumbasses on my team. speaking of that, melo is barely ranked above wes matthews this season, what a disaster.

the real prospects are cuellar (mvp big), eloy (mvp sg/sf), diamond (mvp big), and piper (perennial AS forward, huge starting stats)

carlson is low potential but with decent height/starting skills for my purposes and skutt is in the same boat in terms of fitting my training except hes better potential than carlson and older.  so these are secondary trainees
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on January 19, 2018, 05:50:04 PM
i might do 2 position training. it'll make it easier to win games for me, plus develop my bench. if the training seems too slow i might have to rethink that, but i think it'll be ok.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on January 19, 2018, 06:22:26 PM
the thing with my team is that one on one is legitimately the training my guys need right now, like my guys have weak driving/handling/jump shot.  and it's forced 2 position, so, fine. easy solution, for now.  a little unsure what to do once those stats are beefed up though.  eloy: mvp with good starting skills, 19, but only 6'3.  my other serious trainees are piper at 6'9 and diamond at 7', with steve at 7'3 but already 21 and still with the same TSP as rookie eloy so ehh.  the other thing is i will finish in last place this season so ill get another stud from the draft.  the 6'9 player can train inside or outside skills i guess, but depending on my draft and who i get ill need to choose between diamond and eloy.  i think i didnt have eloys height scouted when i drafted him
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on January 19, 2018, 06:35:48 PM
it's easy. decide what you want to train in the future, bigs or smalls, train 1on1 and any other easy 2-position training like jump shooting and rebounding. since most of your trainees are taller players you'd probably want to train bigs in the future. so when u think u got enough training out of Elroy to make him valuable put him on the market.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on January 19, 2018, 06:45:34 PM
eloy might be my best prospect though, but we'll see.  could sell him but like i said depends on my new draftee after i finish 0-16 this season or whatever.

is there ever a reason to train jump shot instead of one on one?
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on January 19, 2018, 07:10:06 PM
quicker jump shooting pops plus it trains range as secondary.. then again if  you're mostly training 7 footers it'll be slow to train jump shooting and even slower to train range. probably stick with 1on1 unless u want more JS and range pops.

That was a snub but it was only from Crowder, but yeah maybe the team still thinks he faked being sick to duck out when the team was struggling.  in which case it's sort of understandable.  but is it even true I don't know, i do know that Kevin Love has always been kind of anti-social so he probably doesnt get along that well with his teammates.  He's still the second best player on that team though probably so they need to figure it out

do you even understand i just potentially won the league with that trade? if he gets back to putting him his top 20 numbers like he should, good night. very epic buy low trade. Melo is  like good luck for me, once i traded him for Giannis just before Giannis started putting up monster numbers, now this. I'll draft him every season now and sneakily trade him for a first or second rounder.

him faltering opened up the opportunity for the trade. melo is trash, i gave up nothing good.  now Love is going back to his natural position at PF to put up top 15 numbers again. GG.

If Love doesn't start putting up big numbers Cavs will continue to struggle and lose a ton of games, win/win.

it's annoying because before the trade Cavs were dead in the water. I really thought Raptors had an opening to make the finals. Then NBA teams were like hey Cavs take our good young players and bailed them out.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on February 15, 2018, 10:01:46 AM
Yeah the raptors were probably the favorite before the trade although i still wouldnt have counted cleveland out.

george hill was meant to be PG in sac while fox developed and then if Fox got good hill could slide over to the 2 or whatever, it wasn't a bad idea.  But he didnt like being on a shitty team and didnt want to mentor the young guys so it made sense they would move him.  I read in a breakdown of the trade and the Koby Altman was like "yeah when we found out rodney hood was available we knew we wanted to get him" and it's just like wtf, why is rodney hood available in the first place, lol.  utah keeps winning though

I added kevin love to my team in fantasy.  I think he might come back and help me beat you in the playoffs

Roberson was only averaging 5.2 points per game, however, in the ten games since Roberson's injury, OKC has gotten point totals of 0,0,0,2,0,6,0,16,0,0 from their starting shooting guard.

Timberwolves had a legit chance to win last night but never fed Towns and acted like Teague was a first option. Still Harden went off for 44 pts and only won by 3 pts. Wolves got to get smarter, there were times Towns had a guard on him in the paint and they don't give him the ball , lol.

Looks like OKC's big three will be too much for Jazz to handle.

that quote is stupid and Casey should be fired right now for making it.
it's true that Game 1 was very winnable and probably they should have won, Game 3 was another close game where OG Owned but LeBron hit that crazy buzzer beater to win... but you can't be content with a sweep. Failsey is trying to justify another chokejob.

this team keeps choking in the playoffs and something needs to change. some talking-head scrub sports analysts say Casey did great and shouldn't be fired, but he makes mistakes constantly. i mean he put out a third string player Nogueria in place of Jonas at one point in the series.. the way Casey treats Jonas I'm surprised Jonas doesn't demand a trade.

Ujiri said tanking is for scrubs and it won't ever happen in Toronto, so he's not blowing up the team and he shouldn't. But something needs to change and the obvious move to make to me is the coaching. COTY award doesn't mean shit!

also regular season doesn't mean shit either. Raptors can't be content on winning regular season games anymore, it's time to convert that success into the playoffs and they haven't been able to do that yet.

i would accept the status quo if i were the raptors.  It's good all year except for when they face lebron in the playoffs and the LeBronto jokes start, that's better than most teams
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on May 10, 2018, 05:11:56 PM
no. status quo is status fail.

blowing up the team isn't necessary but doing nothing shouldn't be an option either. other teams like celtics and 76ers are getting better too.

Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on May 11, 2018, 01:22:28 PM
Status quo is the 1 seed in the East.  that's good.  if LeBron ever got hurt the Raptors could maybe make the finals and get swept by the warriors/rockets which is even better.  Not many teams can reach those heights.  Of course, blowing it up is sort of cool too but Toronto is too far behind teams like the Celtics and Sixers to do that immediately, i'd let the current team run its course for another ~2 years and then start rebuilding from the gruond up.  gotta enjoy some semblance of winning while you have the chance, some rebuilds fail and then it's just losing for years with no reward (hornets, kings, etc) and you'll miss these days

of course firing casey is fine just promote nick nurse.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on May 11, 2018, 01:46:31 PM
firing Casey isn't going to hurt their winning tbh, if they can get a smart coach to replace him. Nick Nurse is a scrub, Budenholzer would likely be better than him. Ujiri is an elite GM he's not going to hire some dumb bitch like Jason Kidd.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on May 11, 2018, 01:50:24 PM
I heard Nurse rebuilt their offense and is why they got so much better this season.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on May 11, 2018, 02:12:32 PM

nearly every year they have great offense and defensive ratings but it never translates into the playoffs.

they passed the ball more this season which was really the only difference, they focused less on iso. which was something that they obviously needed to do since they got swept by the wizards but it took them until this season to finally do it.

tbh i think derozan needs to develop a 3 point shot and develop his game to where he doesn't need to be ball dominant. otherwise he's a scrub.

The abuse and intimidation that Sterling experienced at the hands of Milwaukee Police was shameful and inexcusable. Sterling has our full support as he shares his story and takes action to provide accountability. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated case. It shouldn’t require an incident involving a professional athlete to draw attention to the fact that vulnerable people in our communities have experienced similar, and even worse, treatment. We are grateful for the service of many good police officers that courageously protect us, our fans and our city, but racial biases and abuses of power must not be ignored. There needs to be more accountability. The Milwaukee Police Department and local officials have acknowledged the challenges they are working to address, and we urge them to enact higher standards and more direct accountability. We all want to be able to trust each and every officer serving to protect us. Incidents like this remind us of the injustices that persist. As an organization, we will support Sterling and build on our work with local leaders and organizations to foster safe neighborhoods and better our community.

the charge/block reversal was all-time bullshit too.  hmmm we're allowed to review to check if he's in the restricted area let's see here... oh not even halfway close, well let's change the call and possibly the outcome of the game while we're here.  like wtf, any close charge/block is a fairly subjective call so why are you changing it if it's not an egregious fuck up, when thats not even what youre at the replay to check?

i thought they would trade young prospects like OG to get him, which would be dumb as fuck.

got a lot of retards on reddit crying trading derozan and the lack of loyalty. fuck off. raptors were loyal for 5 playoff seasons and all he did was shoot like garbage, played no defense and cost the team games. at what point do you make a move? lol. 5 fucking years choking in the playoffs, jesus fuck.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on July 18, 2018, 04:36:01 PM
it's a bit of a risky trade because kawhi is a retarded fucking goof who may fake an injury cause he's a sulky bitch that wants to play in L.A for some reason, but i think it was a risk worth making.. particularly when you don't even give up your young guys like OG.

if he does sit out all year at least you can get the rebuild started early.  Actually i just remembered i said previously that being a good regular season team that gets bounced in the playoffs every year isnt THAT bad a thing, but this move is still good, for this year's potential ceiling and for long-term rebuilding.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Every Billionaire is a Policy Failure on July 18, 2018, 05:43:21 PM
can you just sit out for no reason? that's can't even be legal. and when shit like this comes out, you got to question any injury claims he might come up with.
also why the fuck would he want to sit out after not playing basketball most of last season? even if he's not interested in playing for the raptors long term you'd think it's in his best interest to get a season  of basketball in to get back in shape at the very least.
Title: Re: nba 2017-2018
Post by: Certified MENSA Genius Brain (smart) on July 18, 2018, 05:48:46 PM
You cant sit out for no reason, but you can pretend to be injured I guess.  I mean he just did that last season right

If you sit out without injury it doesn't count toward your free agency and youre still just under contract for that year I think.

what should they tell derozan if they're looking to trade him but there is really no guarantee he'll be traded.. tell him yea we're looking to trade you and then it doesn't happen and he goes into the next season realizing they tried to trade him lol.

They must have done it wrong somehow.  like at that point they definitely knew they were thinking of trading him, no way they didnt.  so they oughta say something like, look, we love you on the raptors, youre our guy, we'd love to keep you in toronto but we cant promise nothing comes up.
