I tested out the colors today, man they are fugly ! :D or maybe not, it could just be that they're unfamiliar, but that burnt red color man, idk... charcoal black was pretty nice though!

one big flaw I noticed though is that teal seems very similar to the "you" color green on the minimap at a quick glance, could be very disrupting

Okay!

After yesterdays games and seeing your colors I think I decided that for me the best would be:

Original:
Blue
Red
Green

Yours:
Black (Grey it is great)
Orange (Burnt Orange)

Any of the two (original or yours):
White
Purple
Yellow

These colors would be the best for people like me!

With the normal ones I have problems to separate Orange from Yellow
With yours I had problems to separate Orange from Red

Black has problems with the minimap
Pink creates me a problem with Purple

Grey is PERFECT :-)

Blue, I could separate it okay in both cases but the light blue was a bit more tiring to look at.

Can these changes apply for all map terrains? Forest, Swamp, Winter, Wasteland

Thank you

Here you go igog!

Wow!!! That is great!
Now that I can compare your orange vs the original Yellow, I can say that your Yellow is better than the original.
Your orange vs normal red is perfectly clear :-)
Now I can make out the colors!

I am guessing that this patch only works for forest tileset.
We should inform iL to integrate your patch to the installer.
Thus new D/Ls should have also your patch instead of only the pink.

How much work is it to make the colors work for all tilesets?

Cheers

Colors are actually growing on me, the red & orange are nice, but white looks the same as critters on the minimap and teal still looks too much like you green. it's also really oddly metallic looking

blue is just impossible to look at though, it's like they're under a blacklight

1-red
2-yellow
3-white
4-blue
5-brown
6-light grey
7-dark purple
8-pink

would that stay out of color blindness?

Read about 5 posts up I added a better color. No green or sky blue. Includes all tilesets, check it out. It's not in original post

ok! I'll test it. Is it still the custom white? The ice white is very nice, I'm not sure now if it was white or black (gray) that looked the same as the critters on mini map. It was on wasteland tileset

So after a weekend of testing with the colors, I have to say that the set you gave me is near perfection but can be improved!

I have problems with Green vs Black (Grey) on minimap.
Also your Yellow and purple vs the normal Yellow and purple are better but the normal ones are also okay

So I suggest:
Original:
Blue
Red
White

Yours:
Black (Grey it is great)
Orange (Burnt Orange)

Any of the two (original or yours):
Yellow
Purple

And Green is a problem. We need to tune green to be different from the grey black and different from the green of your city.

Original Green mixes with the Grey black, and your Green mixes with your city Green. (Only Minimap problem)

You could try something like this: #5BC236 Hex Color | RGB: 91, 194, 54 | APPLE, GREEN

Cheers.

Ps: Yes it works on winter (I had a couple of games and orange really looked cool at winter!)

is it possible for each tileset to have it's own optimal palette? what would the grunts say about this?
