I don't mean to rain on your parade but I'm not sure someone who is new is going to be motivated to watch something of that length. I feel like their attention span/motivation won't be enough at that point. I would think a 10-20min tutorial would be more effective for beginners. The 2-4 hour one can be intermediate/advanced. Beginners need to know how to rush, scout, gay, and defend I would think. At least that is what I teach new people.

Turtle, your efforts are truly virtuous, but I think a good plan might be to try and recruit a team so it's not all on your shoulders. Multiple times throughout the years, someone has come along to try and fix things to make it better. Most have failed or were only temporarily effective. You could ask around but maybe see who would be up for assisting you. I know Tora, Adam-W (big talk then went afk from the game), Swift/Jordan (never did anything though) Fois, Mistral, Equinox (gl with him), and a few others have done/thought of this. U8 would likely know more people. If you could ever get Burnt back, that would be epic, but I'm pretty sure he's lone gone in terms of any motivation to do so.

Weren't you a GOWEF player before?

And it has. Look at the player pool difference. Chop games aren't even up consistently anymore. A great day for the server is 40-45 people. Probably 50s during a big tournament. People like me are playing in higher level games only because there aren't enough good people on. Many people play for a shorter period of time too. It's noticeable.

You could try the random prizes. That might work. I think trying something different is better than trying nothing new. Just know, you'll lose 70% of current players to random maps. If you get 15+ new people to come in though, then it won't matter and would be worth it. Also, just more information for you but many players don't do tournaments because they know they have no chance. Some do it for fun. I guess this could motivate people but it's hard to get word out as only 5-10% of the people go on here.

We've always had this issue. The problem is too many (dbag) players will pretend to be new, and they aren't. It's happened before. People even do it now w/out the tourney. We've done non-pro tournaments, but it seems tier 3 and below don't have interest, as they are less competitive people imo.

No max number of people can join. GOW is what everyone feels most comfortable playing. Many top players won't play otherwise. Duda has hosted many of these other tournaments before with some success but not close to a big GOW tourney success. If only 2-3 of the top 10 players play, it's still just destruction until semi-finals. GOW has more people watching as well. U8 can get over 100 players on his stream.

Usually, you'll see players practicing the week of. I haven't seen anyone. Not sure how well this one is going to work out.

u8- Best at nib wars, HU, top chop AND gow player too
Swift- Best at mind games and adapting in games
SG- Best at being a huge faggot and losing to noobs
Lone- Fastest player (in the game itself), got really good really fast too
Braviet- Best at being creative (PB/Dugz most creative too but not top players)
ST- Best at making people quit this game and telling people to kill themselves, no clear weaknesses
WG- Great team player and doesn't cookie cut too much
Viruz- Best dual rusher (lol), he's only been back for a year though, played very little before that. Not at his prime at all but with a lack of players... he cracks it.
Jesk?- Hasn't really played the last 3(?) years though
Alf- Hasn't played for a few years now but before I would say was in the top 10.

Runner Ups:

Baraman? Beast when he plays but he doesn't play enough
Lego- Solid 1s player but doesn't play enough and idk how many top 10 he would beat
Teaboy- A top 2s player GOW/CHOP but I think misses top 10.
KHB- Refer to comments on SG.
Knitterhemd- Good 2s player. Won tourney with Jesk maybe 5 years ago.
00STEVE?- Solid player. Can definitely have some top 10 skilled games but not as consistent as others.
Lux?- Solid player for many years, lack of playing has hindered him.

Special shout out to Yah'mon- Came back for 4-5 months and was giving Swift a hard time in 1s after not playing for... 15+ years?

2) Are you both not using government assistance for food?

3) Why do you live somewhere you can't work? That's pretty counterintuitive.

4) What is your disability? The government will pay you if you cannot work due to this.

5) What is your rent?

7) I bet 100 other homeless people need a home and food. Why don't you help them? You cannot afford to, because you cannot help yourself. So, why house another person? Admirable, sure, but likely, not the best way to get back on your feet. It's like being poor AF and then choosing to have kids. (though the govt gives you more money for that but you get the idea)
