1 / Players - HUD option

Could we introduce an option in the in-game interface that displays all player names in the bottom corner of the screen? The names should be colored to match the players' colors and should indicate which team they are on or if they are observers. This would eliminate the need to click the allies tab to determine a player's color. Such a feature would enhance both game streaming and recording experiences. ^-^

Two headed ogre mode would be better as teacher mode, where you everyone spawn as usually and you can control all colors in your team. So people can help out and explain stuff.

The default server is offline. Seems like it happened 2 hours ago from this post. Backup is working but not many people connected.

Something is wrong with the server. We get same pos all day long. Try play GOW 1v1 and get 6 v 5 everytime, same for TvB and Melee.
Played some 2v2 and Alf got 6 all game long :D Currently 6, 5, 8 and 9 is the positions you will play :D

6 / Chop Update

Hope you all have a nice summer!

As many know in 2017 I made a new chop version. I made this version because all versions that I could find had different time to put up and chop out for power mine. The version got recieved with mixed feelings. That version makes it harder to put down hall sometimes, if you don't know how to place your buildings for it.

I have since then thought about how to improve it. Finally I got time to put some time into this. I meassured the chop times on all the spots, and even the 2017+ version difference from spot to spot. I made perfect chop on very spot in very slow speed on all the spots when doing the testing. And came up with a new solution where all spots are balanced in time to put down power mine. I also made a couple other improvements. And I think the new version is superior my 2017+ in many ways. I'm open for feedback to how to improve this or if there is something you don't like.

I made some images explaining all the changes and showing an example of how to place buildings for air.

Based on this map I also made a couple of 1s chop maps that is supposed to be played with fixed order and features observer spots. I made spots from the most fair 1v1 positions. Take a look in the zip file I attach to this post. Maybe u8 you want to use it in your chop leauge...

If this map is well recieved by all chop players, maybe it could finally be included in the installation of war2combat...

*EDIT* I realised I made some misstakes with the 1s chop TE fixed maps. I fixed and re uploaded them to this post. Now they work with TvB, players in 1st and 5th slot... Sorry :C

What is the best renderer to use for war2? How do I prevent the war2 window to not resize to small size when in lobby? I want fullscreen all the time but the possibility to use alt+enter for going to window mode, but always full screen.

Is it possible for someone to add an observer alternative to the next client update? For example when you host a game and select orc-human-random you also can also select observer. When game starts you won't get any units or buildings but still be in game. This would be the best improvement for Warcraft 2!

Any ideas how or if this could be made? : )

A few years back I got the idea to make some maps inspired by some of the most popular maps from Warcraft 3. I also wanted to make better, fair and more competitive maps for High Resources - EF play.

Since it is hard to find people that really want to beta test the maps I've been working hard by my own with balancing and finding bugs. So hopefully they are solid enough. They are all counting on the ladder.

Some of the maps includes rocks in the terrain. On my maps you can always build right next to the rocks, so you can close off chokes easily. There is also some runestones to help game play with chokes close to water. In earlier versions players could build on light dirt, I removed this since it confused players too much, it was mostly a design thing, to make maps look more like original WC3.

I also wanted to make more 1v1 competitive smaller maps like Starcraft and Wacraft 3 maps. The issue with Warcraft 2 is that there is no good way of observing in game. So even if the original map is just two spawns I balanced the map for 4 spawns, making the expansions as extra spawns. Even if there is four spawns these maps won't work that good in 2v2, they are made for 1v1. There is also one bigger map that works with 4v4, Lost Temple.

Turtle Rock BNE, Twisted Meadows BNE also works good for 1s...

Would be nice if this map pack could be added to next War2Combat release.

Since they are all well known maps in RTS community I think this could be a nice addition to Warcraft 2.

11 / DNA-Sequence tells people to no join my game

We played chop 1s, he accuse me for map hacking... And when I rehosted he started to tell everyone I am Dellam, lol, so people wouldn't join my game. I consider this really bad for the server. I'm a common hoster and supporter for new players. Please don't let users act like this on server. Thanks ADMIN!

I played some chop today, and Krida did a suspicious decay one game. So I turned on vision, he didn't say anything. So next game I started recording and put on vision from start. He didn't say anything. At the end I asked for SS, and he unpaused (turn hack off??) then I paused again and he said he took SS. When I asked him about vision in end of game he dodges like always. This is not first time, and I know others that he dodged before...

Do whatever you want admins, he still not that good at playing, but now you know...

13 / Why deadly not banned on server?

deadly aka many many names. He takes others maps and change them and host by same map name. He altered my Chop Farms 2017+ map and rehosted it with same name, also with a new name "2018+" that makes it very confusing for players. This is probably something he does with all custom maps. He is a big whiner and uses hacks. I just played him 1v1 his name WARDAWG., and end of game when he lost badly he just obvious drop hack. No delay, just dropped.

I guess it is hard to ban someone completely from server, though they can use vpn. But he seems to be able to ruin games and maps forever and no admin cares...

@XURNT! I have seen on youtube, you guys play a lot of different maps! That's great :) Would be nice if you guys could test some of my maps too, since I'm willing to put time into working on great maps and continue balancing em etc.

Just remember on most of my maps you can build on dirt roads....

The main thing with my maps is that i wanted em to be mirrored, but not a complete mirror copy, but all spawns and positions fairly the same. This is standard in most others RTS-games but not in war2. So if there is something with these maps that make em bad, I will continue try making better maps, or improvements.

Just wondering if it's okay to do the pause exit of games, what I understood this makes loss not get recorded??
Although i know ppl playing gow have messed up stats anyways, since they observe so much.
