UI Updates

    Added Alliance Menu to online multiplayer games. Players can now change alliances, and share vision dynamically in game.
    Added classic Victory/Defeat Screen animation and SFX.
    Victory Screen now always displays the player as first in the list.
    Allow Folder Navigation when selecting Custom Scenarios when creating online lobby.
    Added “Map Default” option for resources in Custom Scenario / Multiplayer. It is now the default option.

Bugfixes

    Fixed a crash that was occurring when you have conflicting input with F10.
    Fixed a crash that was occurring when you have a control group selected, and attack move at the same time.
    Fixed where players would be sent to a different instances when the multiplayer game starts with a desync.
    Fixed a crash when you select a build that would be destroyed and subsequently select another building.

What is this?

this is a mod intended to provide Quality of life features for Warcraft 2, whether they're visual, audio, game mechanics or game re-balance.

Hopefully i can incorporate more individual features into the last mod package, so you can pick up one of them for your usage.

The features in this mod, depending of each sub-package are intended to work mostly for Single player, yet some of them can potentially work for Multiplayer. I will let you know on each sub-package on each description if they work for single or multiplayer.

The features in here are new generation modding features being packed up on each sub-package, that could came up since around late 2019 and onwards.

Features?

The main mod package contains a sub-folder with  package number. Some of these can be combined with others and some of them are universal, aka: they can be used with base game or combined with more complex mods, to provide basic features that can potentially improve your warcraft 2 experience.

Default features for Packs with custom tilesets:
-Footman shield sprite
-Paladin sprite with yellow eyes when researched upgrade.
-Rangers with hood, after ranger upgrade
-Rain of Fire spell, instead of Blizzard. It has icon, sound effect and respective hotkey
-Heal from Warcraft 1, icon and sound effect
-Scorpion critter in Tilesets like Desert or Beach
-Spider critter on RainyValley tileset
-Hell critter in ZergCraft tileset
-Custom orc/human farm sounds from War2 alpha
-Dwarves with custom sprite, basically with larger sword
-Custom torpedo (submarines) sprite,  exorcism, death knight basic attack

Pack 1:
Custom tilesets:
Instead of Forest, ZergCraft: originally extracted by Incos - community member and packed it up in a whole new tileset, fixed by me. This tileset is based on the mythical screenshot & mockup being released on the internet about Starcraft 1 alpha, aka: Orcs in space. The tileset never was released but this is my biggest attempt to bring to life this tileset for people.

Instead of Wasteland, Desert Woow (Weapons of our Warfare): Tileset by Alexander Cech in Weapons of our Warfare mod.

Save Load Fix plugin:
-In short terms, Warcraft II since its DOS version has issues with Save-reloading where computer bugs out and stops working properly. Blizzard never fixed up these bugs. With this plugin, all of that is solved. Thanks to Ed gorod by his plugin. More info in sub-pack.
It can work universally with any other mod. Highly recommended to have way more functional AI to play against. If you play VS comps with OTHER people, ALL OF THEM need to have this plugin file in plugin folder.

Save load fix + AI Fix plugin:
-It provides save load fixes, from previous sub-pack, but here combined with AI FIX PLUGIN. If you want more info about AI Fix functionalities for War2, you can visit in:

Dont attempt to combine this plugin with previous Save Load Fix Plugin on Plugin folder. It may cause bugs.

How to install & play?
- Process is:

1) Install War2 Combat, being provided by russian community in https://en.war2.ru or warcraft2.online. All the options by default on installer.

2) Some of the sub-folders contain a so called "War2patch.mpq". Just place it on your main War2Combat folder, then just play.

3) Some of the sub-folders contain a plugin .w2p file. Just place it in your Plugin folder from War2Combat.

Server.War2.ru / War2 USA server got Shutdown at November 28th late night

- So there it was a discussion between former Admins, Tupac & Babyshark. War2 USA multiplayer server & website were deleted

- If this situation is not ever fixed up, the only Warcraft 2 communities left will be:
War2 Russian/International (Combat Edition),
GOG server being pretty much played by Trogallart + some of his viewers on weekends &
War2 Remaster server

So apparently the future is War2Combat.

Here are my thoughts about the War2 Remaster being announced (+ Released) by Blizzard Entertainment on November 13th, 2024.

Positive features:
- Remastered graphics with the same original War2 color palette. Upscaled & re-drawn for higher resolutions.
- Remastered UI in-game for widescreen support.
- Remastered background images for overall the whole game. Mission briefings, main menu.
- Selectable units up to 12, instead of 9.
- Allowed to select between war2 DOS soundtrack version, even though a bit different than DOSBox and what I used to remember from original old computers OR Warcraft 2 BattleNet Edition soundtrack version.
-Allowed spells for certain mission will remain with darker icon for that specific unit in case it has not been researched, such as the feature exists in Starcraft 1 or Warcraft 3
-You can select in options to always show health bar on a unit, either above or below.
-Smooth scrolling around the map. Even more smooth than current feature by Fois in War2Combat.

Negative features:
- Main logo cinematic was slow to load for me.
- Cinematics from main menu (introduction to war2) or Destruction from Great portal loaded overall with slow FPS, even though I have 13 years old processor.
- I pressed Garden of War map in Multiplayer > maps > classic options and game crashed.
- I could not load the main menu from war2 remaster from Warcraft II remaster.exe. It always pops out the message: "Not logged to Battle.net. Please login". So if this issue happens to anybody else, you cannot play this game without being connected to internet and so then, logged to Battle Net launcher.
- Multiplayer section ONLY has games being created OR allows to create a game. NO MAIN CHAT, like War2Combat or classic Warcraft 2. Chat is not in right side either.
- There's an option for UI in-game options which has a scrolling bar, which I dont know what is for. It says: " UI FIXED" with a scrolling bar which I dont know what it does. No changes if moving around.
- NO ENHANCEMENTS for AI at ALL.
- Game still has messy AI Unit Pathing.
- NO REBALANCE for units in-game. Single or multiplayer.
- Just guessing even though not tested up, but the game may still have SAVE-LOAD bug issues from original game, which were fixed up by Ed gorod for War2Combat.
- NO FIX for SPAMMING AUDIOS in-game. Aka: right clicking a unit will spam unit audios non-stop. Same as switching up between group control of units. This issue was fixed up within my mods, like Road of heroes: https://gamebanana.com/mods/433454 since years already. Right clicking audios spammed is a bug fixed up in Starcraft 1, and alternating control groups with the unit sounds is fixed up just in Starcraft 2.
-Peasants have a small mismatch on frames position. When chopping wood, they seem to move a bit off which does NOT happen with base game sprite.
- Main folder from War2remaster actually has a big sub-folder called Data, which works EXACTLY THE SAME as MY MODS or the ones from Ed gorod. Only a suspicion but Blizzard may have stolen work from Ed in mods since like 2019 and apparently some of the work from @fois in Widescreen program for War2Combat.
-3x the cost I used to have for buying Starcraft 1 remaster in 2017, which is fairly MORE COMPLEX than War2.

Make your own conclusions if this information ever was useful to you, or just buy the game and check that out for yourself if its worthy.

Description:

Hey buddies, danny here.

This mod is intended to showcase the actual original computer difficulty being set up by Blizzard in 1995. Just attempted to get ride of as many bugs as possible that could find in the 52 original campaign maps.

I previously tried to showcase the original difficulty by the already released DAIFE mod but eventually ended up adding my own difficulty boost to AIs in most of the original maps.

Accuracy Edition from now attempts to showcase every single original attack and AI orders that were originally written by Blizzard Entertainment.

The experience all people have out there have about warcraft 2 campaigns is wrong, since most of the original maps have one or several bugs that will never allow the player to have an actual chance to fight an enemy, on almost all the 52 original maps. Most of the original campaign maps are just an attempt to destroy an obstacle. Mostly a dead oponnent, since in original maps the AIs just either get bugged out, stucked or never manage to launch all of their intended unit upgrades or attacks.

If you ever thought for a second that the original Warcraft 2 campaigns are either too easy, too bugged up or that they weren't actually tested up, this is the Mod for you.

This Mod eventually will be a harder challenge for you, in case you wanted something harder than the original Warcraft 2 campaign maps difficulty, in case you're either a casual level player or someone experienced in Real Strategy Games.

I did NOT test up all the maps, even though they were minimally tweaked, to either showcase the full potential from original and completed AI scripts OR reduced the gold available from some Gold Mines, depending of the map where they could be way too much available for the player, e.g: Human04 where you start with over 100,000 gold and 2 additional gold mines with similar amount of Gold available.

Most noticeable fixes from this mod to original maps & original AI scripts:

-Not anymore a lack of workers for AI in any of the maps.
-Attempted to fix as many situations as possible where computer units would get stucked around shorelines, around barracks or town/great halls.
-Showcasing all the intended upgrades from all original maps. In most of them, you may face grunts level 1 or level 3 at most.
-Corrected some missing code from Blizzard to allow proper functionality in some of the Dark portal campaign maps.
-Improved unit pathing around most of computer bases, since they could get usually stucked either around town/great halls or by peons or some poorly pre-placed buildings.
-Fixed as many situations as possible where ships could get stucked near to their shipyard/refineries.
-Fixed as many situations as possible where player could complete missions real quick with either Cheeses or Rushes, by having some experience on the maps. These strategies could usually work as Speedrunning strategies, but they should no longer work, in any of the maps... Well, at least as long as somebody finds a new way to do it, but cheeses/rushes no longer should be obvious to be executed.

Note:
Most noticeable missions to see an actual proper functionality with respect to original war2 campaigns maps are for example: Human10, Xorc3, Human12, Orc11, Orc13, Human2 (no speedrunning), XOrc10, Xhuman6, Xhuman8

Description:
This is a new mod that i did for Warcraft 2 that allows to play Cooperative Mode in Multiplayer (2 players), through a set of Fan-Made Custom maps.

The original maps were intended to be played by 2 players, but I have added up customized Triggers, thanks to Triggers tool being made by Ed.

Initially I've uploaded 1 map but hopefully more comes up with time, made by other people.

Computer difficulty is customized, but doesn't just include the base game scripts that can be found in any other custom map out there.

Map(s) were NOT tested up but they should be theorically possible to beat, since I've balanced them out with just game experience.

This is a mod based on some very old files that were rescued by a Warcraft II USA community member, called as Tupac.

The original mod had a couple of custom campaign type of maps with a couple of plot context in a text file.
The original author attempted to make some sort of campaigns which seemed quite interesting.

I have modded a bit the maps in order to be a bit more complex.
This whole mod includes up the original (now modified) maps by its original author + plot into mission briefings.

Trolls Revolution: Battle for Quel'Thalas mod also includes all the war2 modding features I've been adding up across the years, that are also present in War2 Universal patch v12 for Single player, available in:

The mod has 6 campaign maps.

The original maps had a simple base game AI script for all missions, but now they have a customized difficulty.

Description:
This is a new mod that i did for Warcraft 2 that allows to play Cooperative Mode in Multiplayer (2 players), through all 4 campaign maps, but combined with my Insane Edition mod
(Solo Insane Edition mod available in: https://gamebanana.com/mods/288701)

This mod is based in one of my earliest mods called as Insane Edition, but the maps were tweaked in order to allow 2 players fit & play together, alongside all the map triggers that allow proper functionalities as if it was to be played in single mode.

Difficulty is the same as Solo insane edition, so in theory should be easier to beat these maps as 2 players instead if it was made by one player. All the maps are beatable & tested in Single player mode, up to its last version, but so then were used as a base to make this mod possible.

Not all maps are tested with their new implemented triggers to allow Single player functionalities AND not all maps were tested to see if the provided new resources are enough for 2 players to beat, but in theory they should.

Note at June 9th, 2024:
For now, only Human campaign from Tides of Darkness should be fully completed with Map triggers, but hopefully I can add up the rest of Campaigns
The reason I made this new mod thread is because it contains way more features, aside from patch v10 and it includes up to date almost all the added up new generation modding features in Warcraft 2 and my mods, including Road of heroes & DAIFE Boosted mod features.

The reason I made this new mod thread is because it contains way more features, aside from patch v10 and it includes up to date almost all the added up new generation modding features in Warcraft 2 and my mods, including Road of heroes & DAIFE Boosted mod features.

The main highlight from this mod patch is to bring the capacity to now randomizing almost all customized tileets I've got fully functional till this moment (april 14th, 2024), which are about 20.

The mod works for both single player (custom maps + base game campaigns) OR multiplayer.

Main purpose from this mod, such as it is for v10 enhancements patch, its to bring audio/visual enhancements for the game. Its a universal patch that can be expanded to any other mod.
The code conditions are tied up to the type of Tileset that is being loaded in-game, so then now its not tied up as for each selectable mission such as I coded in Road of Heroes mod, for example.

How to Install & play ?

1) This mod, alongside any of my other mods, can ONLY work with War2 Combat Edition from https://en.war2.ru - you can set up all default settings into the installer.

2) Extract from package and send the folder: "MPv11Files" to your main War2 Combat Edition folder. Same as for the file: MPv11.exe. This last one will let you load the mod and Warcraft 2.

3) Send the file: "pluginMPv11.w2p" to your Plugin folder in War2 Combat Edition. This plugin file allows all functionality from the mod.

Is there somebody interested in doing some graphics artwork for a new tileset called as Lava River in Warcraft 2 ? I have the tileset sheet and your job would just be to give some cool and more realistic animations for Lava in Water tiles, but now with Lava shades (aka: orange, yellow, red shades). I'm looking for someone who would be interested at something like this. Of course, credits for this work will be given to you.

In Lava river v1 I have set some animations already in Shorelines & Water (Lava), but it still needs work there to be properly showcased.

In Lava River v2 there are not animations in shorelines but some in Water (Lava).

Such as the title says. There's a plugin that seem to work good but with backup russian server.

I would appreciate to know if there's some plugin or feature available to use this little feature to show on screen while playing single player from base game OR mods.

it's fully playable and includes some of the most recent features: daytime cycle in some forest-like missions

New universal plugin with for single player custom maps in Warcraft 2 remastered. Audio/visual enhancements and code included to mod the game or alternate with several other of new generation features added up in DAIRE mod. Its called custom maps plugin v7.0

This plugin is universal, which means that is natively intended for custom maps but also can work with base game campaigns and potentially multiplayer,even though I need to disable first some of its features to not cause game crash or game desync in multiplayer. Give me your feedback if interested to add this up for multiplayer as well.
