❗Warcraft 2 - server blocking from RKN
💬Good day! The last few days have seen a critical escalation in the problem for players from Russia with connecting to our main server: server.war2.ru . When trying to connect, the process hangs on "Checking versions", and then throws you to the main menu.
The problem was previously observed mainly when connecting through wireless operators. Now it has spread to most wired providers in the territory of the Russian Federation in most regions of the country.
💣The problem is well known and is related to the fact that RKN is stepping up its efforts to block foreign hosting providers, one of which (Linode) hosts our server. We are actively looking for solutions, but unfortunately, so far we cannot offer a universal option that would allow residents of our country to access the international server, where the majority of players from all over the world play.
✅We suggest that players who have problems connecting to the main server temporarily use the Backup server, which is located in the Russian Federation and accessible from all regions of the country (see screenshot attached to the post).
