Sorry Knitter. I'll actually aid to the original post now.

I played with all noobs back when I played in the early 2000s. I was in a clan called xRIPx. We were all noobs and we played classic games on fastest and everyone stayed away from GOW because we thought it was gay because that's the only thing people played (ironic). We could beat a lot of them on classic game maps, so we thought we were better than we were.

I'll name some random people most of you may not know but were a part of when I was playing early on. I didn't start playing GOWEF until maybe 2015?

1) xRIPx_Th0rn - he was the leader of xRIPx and our best player. Later found out he hacked though. Not sure what his akas were.

2) xRIPx_x-tah_C- 2nd in command for xRIPx and was leader of war3tft xRIPx clan. I called him once because the clan was going to disband due to his inactivity (we've never spoke outside of war2 ever and I think he forgot he gave me his number years ago just in case). It was super awkward... LOL. "Hello? X_tah-C?" (pretty sure he was high too)

3) xRIPx_Unholy and xRIPx_Nedok and xRIPx_Vizzerdrix(?)- Unholy (terror[is]) was new and I taught him, Vizz (ares) was like 8 years old, and Nedok was pretty good. I list them because I wound up seeing them again 10 years later which I thought was cool. Sort of some of my few old school clannies/friends I had when I first started.

4) Br@d- Classic games guy. For us, he was a higher up skilled player. Reminded me a bit like player (time for player to respond and say it was him). Nice but kind of a lone wolf. Never joined any clans and played mostly all types of games.

5) Buildmorefarms. - Always a nice guy. He was very good at a lot of maps and knew them like the back of his hand. Gold rush was his best one. He still logs on once in a great while.

6) SoCxWarChief - The founder of Socx (which later became clan is or as?). Very respectable guy. Was more about the clan than the actual game. He was always professional and kind. He setup a lot of clan wars for Socx and was a true clan leader.

7) Denni - Barely remembered this name but he played a lot with Socx I think too or was in it. SocxDenni I think. He's another player like Br@d but even better. At the time, he was one of the top players I knew. Never heard of him since. He was around Lux' skill level.

8) I forget Lux's Socx name but they brought that fucker in as a ringer (found out like 4 years ago) when we did clan wars!!! LOL. Him and... I think SocxMaster/Denni beat most of us. Th0rn and maybe 1 other guy could hold their own vs them. Master came back during Covid and was a lot better than I thought he would be. Maybe we weren't THAT noob.

9) Arson666 - First guy I ever played with consistently as a 2s pard when we were both new. I've since seen him one time randomly like 8 years ago.

10) Other Socx- Ghost, StannyDingy, Darksol/Rsldot - Didn't see them for years since I quit. When I came back, they were both playing and I was super excited but both quit like a month later. :(

11) BRAVIET- Ha, almost forgot, we used to play classic games maps on F with him a bit. At the time, he was average I believe.

12) ~~Wooferz~~- When I came back from War3, I wound up playing GOWF. He played it a lot with me, along with other F players at the time (Skunk, OldEnglish, Angel, Sonic[is], Van, Goblin, Redskins, Player, Sparkz once in a while, Masa, Pink, sh4de, and a bunch more that are likely on my /f l) and he was one of those top players. He was very good at 2-3 halling and massing air. Never spoke ANYTHING about his life (like player) when you asked though. He always deflected for some reason. Even now... He also played with his wife sometimes. BeardedGoat.

13) HunglikeOrc/Yah'mon- Didn't know either but Hung had like 100k games and Yah'mon was always on, so I always saw his name the few times I went into that GOW channel that was always full. I forget the name of the channel. Yah'mon came back on 6-7 years ago and played a lot for like 5 months. Got really good again and towards the end, was having a series w/swift and winning some games. I think he lost but it was at least semi close. Then he quit. I asked him why and he said he just wanted to make sure he still had it, hahaha.

14) Baraman- Never knew him or heard of him. He randomly showed up and was playing for a bit (7 years ago?) and I thought he was a smurf. We parded and he dualed 6/8 one game, I died and then he beat 2 pretty good players 2v1 with a 6/8 dual and I was like who tf is he? I guess he is him, lol. Swift says that isn't a smurf. He was a really good, top 3, F player at one point. Swift, Sparkz and Bara.

I came into GOWEF too late. There are a lot of players who played that I was either not playing GOWEF yet or just started and was very new to seeing a lot of people play who are now often talked about. I don't have a good enough memory nor was likely allowed in a lot of those games to begin with. I would have liked to be a part of that but missed my chance.

I know what you're saying, and there is some truth to it, but that doesn't mean people aren't getting better each year. I'm much better than I was 3 years ago and a lot of other people are too. There is a difference between learning something organically and learning through people who have higher skill and are willing to teach. When you learn organically, you go much slower. Learning directly from people who tell you what to do or what is wrong helps you get better a lot faster, if you are willing to learn.

Just because someone was good 10-20 years ago doesn't mean they would be as dominant now a days. If the average skillset has caught up to near where that person was, they won't be as dominant as they were. I'm not saying they won't be good still, they will be, but the talent pool may have caught up compared to before. Even Swift said the average person's skillset on here is much higher than it was back then.

Go watch replays of the pros 20 years ago. Watch their build orders and strats. Not so good compared to now.

Ring- Viruz has beat him on GOW. All the players I mentioned that have beat u8, have beat him. Stop kissing butt! :) <3

I'm not sure what your first sentence is about. Because I used the words "were pro"? They almost all stopped playing it. Or because if YWFN was "pro" before, he wasn't at the end of his career? The longer the game is out and the longer people play, the better they get. Many of those who were at the top, who don't play anymore, wouldn't be quite as dominant years after they quit. If you're in a final's championship, you beat out everyone else? Maybe there were no pros in the tournament?

There are 16 people on this list, let's not argue about 1 of them you disagree with. None of those matter. It's just a tangent/deflection. My response was to disprove Ring's response.

OR you can just not play with them and play with the other 95% of war2 players.

I don't know them all too well myself. I assumed PB named good players but the ones I do know are good. I also recall people saying you weren't anything special back then, so I assumed any top/pro players have beat you at some point. Have you 1v1ed them all? The quote implies that you've played them all and they haven't beat you. Your response implies that as well.

"pretty sure none of these players ever beat u8t once tho xd"

I would argue poscow~, Braviet, Jesk, Viruz, KHB, and Bara were pro at some point. I know Jesk, Viruz, and Braviet have beat you, so that already disproves his quote.

Hot might be in that conversation too in terms of high skill level/pro. I've seen YWFN in a 1v1 finals tournament vs WG a long time ago. I thought Dugs/SG have won a 2s tournament before (I may be wrong though). I know KHB/SG beat you guys in 2s. Legalos 1v1s a LOT or did. I think he was a little short of a top player discussion. I imagine at some point you two met?

Server.War2.ru / Website soooo slow
« on: July 06, 2026, 08:10:52 PM »
For the last 6 months this site has been terribly slow for me. VPN on or off. For a while I couldn't even open it. I can now but it's awfully slow. I have to wait 30 seconds between each link I click. I even just got this. Are others having this issue too?

Server.War2.ru / Re: For all admins
« on: July 06, 2026, 08:04:24 PM »
I'm pretty sure Tora took your admin away. I thought he may have said it on the post when you admitted to cheating. While it showed integrity and I think some people respect you for it, in a sense, it also doesn't make it right. As a "leader" or person in charge of the server, it wouldn't be right for them not to take any action. Also, admins are basically useless anyways. Tora is the only one who does anything.

ST and SG (and a few others) are a problem. Most games without them are pretty tame with some smack talk or arguing about strats but not the type of insults they do. The whole dynamic changes when they play. There is a difference between bitching at someone and straight up being mean, personal, and never letting things go. At that point, everyone else starts to get at each other's throats. It creates a chain reaction, and everyone becomes part of it.

I can name a handful of people who don't play anymore due to this. Why play a game where you're just going to get constantly insulted all the time? That's not fun for people. I'm even getting to that point. I don't think there is much of a solution unless you want to ban some of the top players in the game. RU has never moderated things people say and I'm assuming it will remain that way. I'm not saying I'm for that either.

Not enough people use squelch tbh. I had SG squelched for like 8 months and it was great. Especially when we 2s because he's likely talking to me and I'm ignoring him, lol. The sad thing is that I don't believe they are mean people per se. I think the game brings it out of them, and they feed on others' reactions.

U8 wasn't pro when most of these guys played. And those that are on here that have, have or likely have beat him before.

« on: June 15, 2026, 05:57:40 PM »
How come alt enter doesn't work with the HD version in the channel? It works outside of the channel. If you are in a game lobby/game, you can do it. Once you do it in the lobby/game, if you get out of the game, you're still in the smaller window when you go back into the channel. It's a sort of workaround but if it's possible to make it happen via lobby/game, why can't it work right off the bat in the channel?

I'm not sure your efforts will be worth it. Nobody plays anymore. Also, u8 would rather mass zeps vs people who have played for 3 months, than play on the regular server, which doesn't help.

Should eliminate alf/braviet/jesk/tea/steve's tags all together and add 4 total tags for 2s.

Server.War2.ru / Re: Master tag challenge thread
« on: April 13, 2026, 04:22:17 PM »
I'm pretty sure he had a tag at some point? I could be wrong. Oh, I didn't know for Lux. He was playing yesterday on RU though? Nobody does 1s, you are right. Roast was a lot, but I don't see him anymore. Idk if you could do 2v2 master tags? Might be doable.

Everyone plays 4s and it sucks. I hate it so much. The problem is, people don't want to bench friends, which I get. A 4s with all good people is okay but that is rare and lessor skilled people would rather log than host their own games with people with similar skill levels.
