Would increasing the memory of the server assist with the latency?

Just looked, i'd say need one more server for fix that latency problem. Memory should not be he main problem, the main problem is CPU. And network.

It's just one server hosting the war2 client at the moment or how many is it?
How much would it be for the fully year to add 1 additional server?

It's just one war2 server, yes,
I think need 1 more additional server, should cost $5 per month. Probably $60 per a year, not sure about the discount...

Latency is a complicated problem, depends on different things, need to look for a reason every time it happens...

The only way i can interpret such decision according to russian media is pressure from USA side to their governments.
USA is going to lose that Ukraine campaign, so they need to do something as soon as possible. No doubt, USA has a big influence at Finland and Sweden governments.

Nothing threatened to Finland and Sweden till they decided to join NATO. And now looks like they are going to get some big problems from russian side. Finland is located extremely close (about 150 km) to St. Petersburg, the 2-nd city of Russia.

That's a very interesting question what Putin will do with that. He demanded to return NATO back to 1997 several months before.
And now looks like he stopped his talks and began to act.

1 year left since the /ss system have been released.

2230 ss have been processed since 2021 May 13.

Moved old screenshots to a subdirectory.

You feel free to use /ss up to 3 times in a game any moment you want to request ss.

Let me know is some issues appear.

Sure, you can add it manually using the gateway editor as explained in my link: https://en.war2.ru/support/moving-from-gog-server-to-server-war2-ru/
But there's a small moment with GoG:
Original war2 (and Combat released as close as possible to original) keeps gateways in registry in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Battle.net\Configuration
GoGs decided to change their path to gateways to: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Battle.net\W2\Configuration

So you can use the gateway editor to change gateways in the original path, but you should change it manually in \W2\Configuration for GoG.

Due to political issues related to .ru we enforced replace gateways from .ru to .online.
The changes will be applied automatically when you join the server.

Sure! All you need to do with GoG is to apply .reg-file.

Although I highly recommend using War2Combat - it's much better and free of many GoG issues.
