The tournament today had a lot of very good players so I was happy with turn out.

But it was extremely hectic dealing with so many people at once.
Also the server crashed halfway through the tourney.
So I apologize to anyone who was annoyed in any way of how I hosted this tourney.

With that said I am happy about the results, and I thank all those who participated.

And by the way RaT if you reading this page your prize money is still unclaimed so please message me to clear that up.

Sorry for the late response guys I actually do think I like Ganz's idea.

Anybody interested in making some cash designing me a banner in Russian?

If you are serious about hosting a chop tournament I don't mind helping you out a bit.
I could put up a cash prize for your winners and I could also let you use my bot to help advertise.

Message me if your interested.

I don't mind trying this out but since its not in my language i'd rather have somebody else post it.
If Ganz or Blid, or someone else would like to put up the ad i'll send you the cash to post it and we could work from there.

Ok I don't mind advertising here but the problem is it's pretty much all russian so I would need somebody like claw or Il to buy the advertising for me since I don't understand anything on the site.

Facebook advertising is our best bet IMO. Its just gonna take more than a couple hundred dollars.. setting up an eye catching, well put together, professional looking post/ad will go a long way as well.
I got the funds,
Just tell me how exactly would I go about making a "professional looking ad" on facebook.

1 more week until the next Gow tournament.
Saturday, on Sept 26 at 4pm eastern time.
Yamon will be defending his master tag and I will be giving away up to $100 or more depending on player turnout.
All players must have War2combat 4.0 with anti hack tech installed.
And all players must have paypal in order to receive their cash prizes.

Hope to see you all there.

I figured I should give everyone an update on my whole ad space inquiries.
For the last week I've been trying to get a few gaming platforms to add war2 to their website without much luck I might add.
Main reason for this is as everyone is already aware War2combat is copyrighted blizzard material.
Which is why most gaming platforms are unwilling to touch it.

Now I am simply trying to get a basic ad on some major sites like
  http://www.addictinggames.com/support/contact-us.jsp

http://www.freeonlinegames.com/contact

http://www.freearcade.com/ContactUs.php

Just to name a few.
So lets see how this coming week will play out.

Ganz had a good idea. Why not contact the bigger pvpgn servers and see if we can banner or link exchange.
ill give it a try why not.

Ganz you are right that new players tend to lose tournaments. You are wrong though that cash tournaments won't attract new players just because they suck. Tora has also expressed interest in possibly having lower level / new player tournaments. A lot of people just like to play in a normal tournament or especially a cash tournament just for the fun of it or because it is cash. Cash tournaments also give new players the incentive to get good or aspire to so they can then maybe win the cash. Since late 2014 when I first started having PBall tournaments the PBall community has gained new players and the old players started to play a lot more because of the activity. My past tournaments I'm talking about weren't even cash tournaments and the PBall community got a lot more active because of them. I think GOW tournaments will help the same way it'll give new players an incentive to get good and get some existing players on more often. Tora as far as the ads it's up to you, maybe do some experimenting and see the results before making a bigger investment, or invest with several people maybe, up to you though.

You are right I do need to just do some experimentations with a few different websites. Then based on results we can work from there.

I believe if theres at least some newbies and the compstomp game hosted, they'll enjoy it here.
worst thing they could experice is the empty 'join' list followed by 'youre not able to host' followed by an insta ban from some public gow game
That actually is a pretty big turn off for new players,
But if we can keep say 30 out of a 300 player sign up I would say it was worth it.

On another note I don't mind throwing a $1000 in ads if somebody is interested in matching me.
Its like TK said if we throw several thousand dollars in this we might get more players.
Then we might be able to do a big blitz and make our goal of 200-300 new players in a couple of days.

Me and Burnt had a lot of success with our Facebook advertisements. We probably threw 400-500 dollars at it all together and probably saw 200 new users over the course of our advertisements.

The problem isn't getting new users. The problem is keeping them. The community basically tells them "Get the fuck out of here we don't want you" The first hour they log on the server. They are ignored, banned, with absolutely zero assistance and no admins logged on to even ask for assistance from.

Would you spend any time or money in a home depot or wal mart (Assuming it was your first time ever) if you walked in and there was absolutely no customer service or cashiers to help you check out?

Welcome to server.war2.ru.

I'm not trying to be a dickhead here ToRa.. but you're wasting your money advertising for the server. Even if there are active admins, The rest of the community is going to eat new users up and shit them out within a couple hours.
I do gotta agree with a lot of what you said.
New players are always banned and booted from games.
So I suppose even if i do spend some cash in ads it wount do much good.
