Imagine that in 2014 Michigan was invaded by Canada. They fight. People are killed. Within Michigan there is a small group of very fringe, far right militant people. The degree to which they are "Nazis" I am not exactly sure, but it's not really important. "Sharing Nazi sentiments," "Nazis," "Nazi-sympathizers," whatever you want. It's a small group with zero political power or backing. But these people are also quite patriotic about their state of Michigan and sure as hell don't want Canada there. Michigan decides that if this small group of people want to fight to help get this foreign invader out of their country, killing and raping people, they could use the help.
Now imagine Canada saying "OMG we need to save the United States from the Nazis, look at all these Nazis with power in Michigan, don't worry US citizens, we will free you from the Nazis!" It's completely absurd.
