This is true but when you are constantly smurfing, spb quiet, and not the MOST outgoing or personal person on here, who is going to give you tips? Rofl. I've played with you for 10-13 years (?) and honestly don't know 1 damn thing about you. I also thought you quit for years (years ago) and then found out you were maybe smurfing the entire time? I'm not saying we should necessarily do this but what does everyone think of possibly adding "obs" to game channel or whatever it's called. We have brb and afk that pops up to the right of the person's name, which is pretty effective. But if someone wants to obs, it's often overlooked, needs to be repeated or the game is started. Again, not saying it should be implemented but I'm just curious what everyone else thinks.
Also, one that says "noob" wouldn't be terrible either.

They always just say, use obs, lol. Nobody cares if you say last anymore.
Also, when they obs, they should be ally-able so you don't keep attacking their buildings every time you want to attack something/someone else. Before, if they say last, you can use that building for your advantage because you have allied them. Even if they didn't say last and they have buildings, you can use multiple ones too.
Now, my units will always attack that building/s if they obs too early. (so many obs too early and don't understand why it's dumb, I don't get it)

Yes, less people generally leads to less competition. You're right, it's a different game. We use similar games to reference ours at times, yes, but that doesn't mean we need to do things the same. It's just my opinion on the subject.

The same people are going to win and lose. We know this, right? It's not like it's some big tournament showdown where everyone is super excited and into it. (RIP swift/st) It's just handing people like u8/st/medivah some money every season is all. Might as well put them on the payroll.

Somehow, we believe in the honor system here. I'm with TK tbh. At least, have that for like ladder and/or tournaments. People still give advice when they obs. It just needs to be selective and that is difficult to do or becomes a fine line. The truth is, phones/discord/etc will do the same thing if someone is not playing who is obs.

The most underrated feature of this game is /squelch. I do it to Van all of the time. I'm personally tired of engaging in such arguments. That was one of the reasons BS left for sure. I recall some of the chats I've seen. He was pretty brutal. You can't control what people say but what you can control is how you handle it. Argue and get mad at the people/game or you can avoid it and play with people you can play with. The more you play, the better you get and the more people you meet.
Everyone doesn't need to be friends. It would be nice, but I've never seen or heard of a game where that is the situation. Ours is unique in terms of the smaller community, I get that. I'll go back to what I've said for years and years. Host your own games. Be in control of you. Everyone doesn't need to play in every game hosted or with the top players. I get obs'd when the top people are playing sometimes, and I accept it.
The biggest reason for shit talking is competition due to skill gaps. Relate this to life. If you are the worst worker at a job, you are probably going to get fired. If you are the worst player for a sports team, you will get dropped. If you are a bad bf/gf, you will get dumped, if you are a terrible student in a school project group, people will dislike you and not want to be with you again. This is life people and all of these examples are relative. I've seen noob games where people do the same as the higher skilled games.
If you are the "worst", don't take it personally. This is based on skill, not necessarily who you are as a person. (Everything I say is a generalization) If you suck and people give you shit, be in control of you. You can say things like, I'm sorry man, I'm really trying. What could I have done better? I've said that to someone before who was very mean to me and that stopped it believe it or not.
Let's translate this to real life, put 50 people together in a room/community/whatever. Do they all get along? Put 20 people together, do they all get along? This is life people, not Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. Handle this like you would handle life.
I'm 100% for the effort of inclusion but I do still want to play my competitive games, or I wouldn't play. That is for many other people as well.

I get ya, but I've been around for many years too though. Not just this year. The other trolls are 100% part of it. I said, "I'm not saying it's all you because it is not". In general, it would just be nice to stay on topic. Most forums filter that stuff out and will delete unrelated posts. It's more about being productive than anything.

There really needs to be a more active moderator for this forum. Tora, I know you do it sometimes but not daily or necessarily weekly. I also know you are the only admin that does anything tbh. (appreciated)
Honestly, and EQ, yes, I'm going to throw some shade right now but I'm being direct, out of respect. I'm also taking some blame. The forums tend to get a bit rowdy when you get worked up. The last, 6 months or something, when you were not active, the forums were fairly quiet and not all mucked up. I'm not saying it's all you because it is not, but you bring a decent amount of it.
I would urge people, including myself, to start a new topic if you are going to go off topic and mess up someone else's post. I understand my responding does not help either. I am guilty of that. Naturally, small comments here and there will happen, and that's fine but when it gets crazy, it needs to be stopped and/or deleted.
