-Here finally is, Warcraft II Chocolate mod that is available for War2Remaster (v1.7) but now for War2 Combat (Classic).

-This mod is basically a Fork that initially was made for War2Remaster, but with several enhancements included here for War2Combat, that can be possible to apply, due to the new generation features that are available for modding the game, in War2Combat.

-You can visit War2Remaster Choco mod version to see the features from that mod, but in short terms here, War2 Choco mod basically includes:
*Game rebalance from War2Remaster (provided by Blizzard Entertainment in december 2024),
*aside from other balance changes provided as ideas from the community member, ErenusSocrates, that requested them for that mod.
*map fixes for proper AI functionalities,
*some maps with custom computer Allies for player.

-All of these features mentioned before, but also now included in War2 Choco - Combat mod version, you can get:
*Rally points
*AI Fix Plugin features (info about this in: https://forum.war2.ru/index.php?topic=6127.msg102091#msg102091)
*Grid hotkeys, like the option in War2Remaster
*SaveLoad fix feature

-A community member asked for a new Warcraft 2 Remaster mod, which contemplates Blizzard's game rebalance from december 2024 plus his own Game rebalance proposal with its additions.
-Aside of that, several proposed changes for the campaign maps.

-This community member named as ErenusSocrates has originally made a post with modified maps for War2Combat, including several of the game proposed changes. Its included on the screenshots as a reference.

-There're several changes which I cannot expose all of them in description but in screenshots you can see them all. And within the mod package files, you can also check all of the mission + rebalance changes for this mod.

-Each campaign gets an extra computer rescuable Ally for one mission map. No spoilers.

-This Chocolate mod has several mission map & AI Fixes that come from the already existing, DAIFE & DAE mods

This means, several missions maps that are taken from base game are already functional now with their original AI scripts to properly work from start to end. Most noticeable fixed missions are like:
Human10, Human12, Human13, Orc7, Orc8, Orc9, Orc10, Orc11, Orc12, Orc13, Xhuman4, Xhuman5, Xhuman6, Xhuman8, Xhuman10, Xorc3, Xorc4, Xorc5, Xorc10, Xorc12

Description

-This is a mod being based on a couple of custom maps being made by Moon, a community member from AsApp's discord, being also related to play war2 custom maps.

-This Moon guy stated to make this mod from 2023, so i decided to make an enhanced version with map triggers, audio/visual enhancements, quality of life features.

-The original mod also contained some small mission briefings so they were adapted now to this mod, as if it was a campaign.

-Customized mission triggers for each map.

-The campaign-mod has 7 missions, yet there're another 7 extra ones that can also be played from menu.

-If had to value original difficulty from values:
very easy ---  easy --- normal --- above normal --- challenging --- hard --- very hard --- impossible-like

then I'd rate it as between "easy" and "normal".

-Original difficulty is now set as "Normal-default-initial" difficulty on this mod. If feel motivated enough, I may release a Hard difficulty for this mod aside from some additional triggers as well.

-Big thanks to original Author, Moon for having such a creativity in original content, to bring all this mod up to life.

-Original files are included in main package.

Description

-I've made a small mod for Warcraft 1 where you can attempt to play the game in Hard mode.
This mod has tweaked AI difficulty where computers train up units way faster from buildings like barracks, churchs or towers.

-Missions that have increased their difficulty are pretty much the ones that are macro oriented missions, so not the ones that are about infiltration (like human4).

-Missions modded are:
Human3 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12
Orc3 -5 -6 -7 -9 - 10 - 11 -12

-Computers now:
*Train peons way faster
*Research upgrades way faster
*Launch attacks way faster
*Attacking groups scale way faster, where usually they were sent in groups of 1-3 units from base game. It would take so long to see bigger groups

-Since now Computers get actual Upgrades for their units, this is an indirect Buff for Scorpions/Spiders/Skeletons/Demons/Water Elementals, which indeed seem stronger in combat and can be a threat.

DAIFE co-op is easier than Insane edition co-op yet they both mods operate with campaign-like triggers but for Multiplayer.

Installation instructions are very simple and set up in mod thread from first link above

Big thanks to Ed gorod for his Triggers tool to make this possible.

hi, like title says i ask moderators or admins if is ever going to be another War2 Combat ladder season.

But most specially, wondering if this time will be added up a season with Blizzard-War2Remaster rebalance.

For the first time, in 30 years, I've seen one single Blizzard's official game rebalance patch for Warcraft II, where I significantly see a chance for Humans to be playable on the game, in frontal combat and in fair 1 vs 1 game.

For some very unknown reason to me, no people ever talk about it in the most populated and regularly visited War2 server. The only ones I've seen talking about it, are beginners - casual level people from War2 Remaster.

This rebalance patch may not be perfect, but its a legit intention for the first time in 30 years, to see Humans being actually playable.

Why no people interested in ?

Why no interest in making a whole ladder system with this rebalance mode, even if its officially launched by Blizzard Entertainment and made available by Ed gorod ?

Like if people would like to be hardstucked in OrcCraft II or BloodlustCraft II for ever.

My main concerning is that past Ladder season in the beginning of year, actually added up a whole set of different maps to play with, even if the so beloved Gardens of War was added up. But it still gave variety at last, even though it was same base game balance.

No intentions to fight, but would like legit answers to this, if ever possible please.

I could understand 5 years ago, that people would think War2 would be stucked to Bloodlust + Death & decay for ever, since official developers never released a game patch or rebalance patch, but that's no more thanks to Ed gorod (most likely and other admins from community). Yet, even with official content, people still dont ask for stuff like the Rebalance mode which makes Humans finally an option to fairly win Orc oponnents.

Description:

-There's a guy in War2Combat community that has made a Warcraft 2 game re-balance for a couple of unit/spells since June, 2024.
He included his changes into a couple of "most likely" Multiplayer maps that are played on Russian server, online.

-I've talked with him and just decided to make a campaign mod which include all of his in-mind rebalance purposal for Warcraft 2.

-The mod contains a sub-folder with the changes for BaseCampaigns experience OR DAIFE mod.
DAIFE is one of my oldest mods but its been taken from the last update that it recieved, so the version 6_963 (https://gamebanana.com/mods/288680)

-Changes (for now) include:
a) mana cost changes for different spells:
heal: 4mana/1hp
exorcism: 2mana/1hp
bloodlust: 100 mana
fireball: 80 mana
death oil: 80 mana
polymorph: 150 mana
blizzard: 80 mana
death & decay: 80 mana
whirlwind: 80 mana
unholy armor: 200 mana

b) bloodlust nerfed to 2x damage

c) auto-heal for paladins

d) upgrade power boosts:
-ground armor upgrades from +2 to +1
-ground sword upgrades from +2 to +1
-arrow upgrades from +1 to +2
-catapult damage upgrades from +15 to +20

-Personally included Repairable catapult/ballistas feature for this mod

Description:

Would you feel like Computers are too stupid or not such a challenge to fight against in Custom maps?

Would you like to check a hidden mod made by a community member since years ago and it' available on the installer from War2Combat ?

Here I give you easier access to that mod, being called as Rotonda's AIE mod for Custom maps.

This mod I checked very little but it's supposed to make computers way more of a Challenge for Custom maps. I bet it can be played with more people, but it's needed that all of them contain the same Rez\ai.bin file that is contained within this package, otherwise will cause to drop out from game.

This mod is available since several years on the installer from War2Combat (https://warcraft2.online)

I have not checked if all computers work properly, but at least the mod is packed up with an AI file that has customized difficulty for computers in all mod custom maps.

The mod contains 2 sub-folders, one for the custom AI difficulty and one for Custom maps for the mod. These maps can be created either from Single player Custom maps or LAN or online , but remember that for Multiplayer you all players need to be using the same AI file contained on this mod, because otherwise will cause game drop.

What is this?

this is a mod intended to provide Quality of life features for Warcraft 2, whether they're visual, audio, game mechanics or game re-balance.

Hopefully i can incorporate more individual features into the last mod package, so you can pick up one of them for your usage.

The features in this mod, depending of each sub-package are intended to work mostly for Single player, yet some of them can potentially work for Multiplayer. I will let you know on each sub-package on each description if they work for single or multiplayer.

The features in here are new generation modding features being packed up on each sub-package, that could came up since around late 2019 and onwards.

Features?

The main mod package contains a sub-folder with  package number. Some of these can be combined with others and some of them are universal, aka: they can be used with base game or combined with more complex mods, to provide basic features that can potentially improve your warcraft 2 experience.

Default features for Packs with custom tilesets:
-Footman shield sprite
-Paladin sprite with yellow eyes when researched upgrade.
-Rangers with hood, after ranger upgrade
-Rain of Fire spell, instead of Blizzard. It has icon, sound effect and respective hotkey
-Heal from Warcraft 1, icon and sound effect
-Scorpion critter in Tilesets like Desert or Beach
-Spider critter on RainyValley tileset
-Hell critter in ZergCraft tileset
-Custom orc/human farm sounds from War2 alpha
-Dwarves with custom sprite, basically with larger sword
-Custom torpedo (submarines) sprite,  exorcism, death knight basic attack

Pack 1:

Instead of Forest, ZergCraft: originally extracted by Incos - community member and packed it up in a whole new tileset, fixed by me. This tileset is based on the mythical screenshot & mockup being released on the internet about Starcraft 1 alpha, aka: Orcs in space. The tileset never was released but this is my biggest attempt to bring to life this tileset for people.

Save Load Fix plugin:
-In short terms, Warcraft II since its DOS version has issues with Save-reloading where computer bugs out and stops working properly. Blizzard never fixed up these bugs. With this plugin, all of that is solved. Thanks to Ed gorod by his plugin. More info in sub-pack.
It can work universally with any other mod. Highly recommended to have way more functional AI to play against. If you play VS comps with OTHER people, ALL OF THEM need to have this plugin file in plugin folder.

Save load fix + AI Fix plugin:
-It provides save load fixes, from previous sub-pack, but here combined with AI FIX PLUGIN. If you want more info about AI Fix functionalities for War2, you can visit in:

Dont attempt to combine this plugin with previous Save Load Fix Plugin on Plugin folder. It may cause bugs.

How to install & play?
- Process is:

1) Install War2 Combat, being provided by russian community in https://en.war2.ru or warcraft2.online. All the options by default on installer.

2) Some of the sub-folders contain a so called "War2patch.mpq". Just place it on your main War2Combat folder, then just play.

3) Some of the sub-folders contain a plugin .w2p file. Just place it in your Plugin folder from War2Combat.

Server.War2.ru / War2 USA server got Shutdown at November 28th late night

- So there it was a discussion between former Admins, Tupac & Babyshark. War2 USA multiplayer server & website were deleted

- If this situation is not ever fixed up, the only Warcraft 2 communities left will be:
War2 Russian/International (Combat Edition),
GOG server being pretty much played by Trogallart + some of his viewers on weekends &
War2 Remaster server

So apparently the future is War2Combat.

Here are my thoughts about the War2 Remaster being announced (+ Released) by Blizzard Entertainment on November 13th, 2024.

Positive features:
- Remastered graphics with the same original War2 color palette. Upscaled & re-drawn for higher resolutions.
- Remastered UI in-game for widescreen support.
- Remastered background images for overall the whole game. Mission briefings, main menu.
- Selectable units up to 12, instead of 9.
- Allowed to select between war2 DOS soundtrack version, even though a bit different than DOSBox and what I used to remember from original old computers OR Warcraft 2 BattleNet Edition soundtrack version.
-Allowed spells for certain mission will remain with darker icon for that specific unit in case it has not been researched, such as the feature exists in Starcraft 1 or Warcraft 3
-You can select in options to always show health bar on a unit, either above or below.
-Smooth scrolling around the map. Even more smooth than current feature by Fois in War2Combat.

Negative features:
- Main logo cinematic was slow to load for me.
- Cinematics from main menu (introduction to war2) or Destruction from Great portal loaded overall with slow FPS, even though I have 13 years old processor.
- I pressed Garden of War map in Multiplayer > maps > classic options and game crashed.
- I could not load the main menu from war2 remaster from Warcraft II remaster.exe. It always pops out the message: "Not logged to Battle.net. Please login". So if this issue happens to anybody else, you cannot play this game without being connected to internet and so then, logged to Battle Net launcher.
- Multiplayer section ONLY has games being created OR allows to create a game. NO MAIN CHAT, like War2Combat or classic Warcraft 2. Chat is not in right side either.
- There's an option for UI in-game options which has a scrolling bar, which I dont know what is for. It says: " UI FIXED" with a scrolling bar which I dont know what it does. No changes if moving around.
- NO ENHANCEMENTS for AI at ALL.
- Game still has messy AI Unit Pathing.
- NO REBALANCE for units in-game. Single or multiplayer.
- Just guessing even though not tested up, but the game may still have SAVE-LOAD bug issues from original game, which were fixed up by Ed gorod for War2Combat.
- NO FIX for SPAMMING AUDIOS in-game. Aka: right clicking a unit will spam unit audios non-stop. Same as switching up between group control of units. This issue was fixed up within my mods, like Road of heroes: https://gamebanana.com/mods/433454 since years already. Right clicking audios spammed is a bug fixed up in Starcraft 1, and alternating control groups with the unit sounds is fixed up just in Starcraft 2.
-Peasants have a small mismatch on frames position. When chopping wood, they seem to move a bit off which does NOT happen with base game sprite.
- Main folder from War2remaster actually has a big sub-folder called Data, which works EXACTLY THE SAME as MY MODS or the ones from Ed gorod. Only a suspicion but Blizzard may have stolen work from Ed in mods since like 2019 and apparently some of the work from @fois in Widescreen program for War2Combat.
-3x the cost I used to have for buying Starcraft 1 remaster in 2017, which is fairly MORE COMPLEX than War2.

Make your own conclusions if this information ever was useful to you, or just buy the game and check that out for yourself if its worthy.
